I don't know what I did to my knee but the back of it is extremely painful when I walk.it feels like a bad sprain. I have tried ice, braces, creams, massage, ibuprofen 800 mg, just about everything I can think of. I can't get into the doctor until Monday.

If your pain is not subsiding and you cannot see a doctor until Monday, I'd go to the emergency room and get an evaluation now.
Good luck.

Knee pain like back pain has myriad of "what it might be's". You say "the back of it" so that opens possibilities of something other than the knee. I certainly won't speculate, but icing/staying off of it, and an anti-inflammatory might. I hesitate to tell you higher doses of them can possibly help, because I know nothing about your medical history.
If pain level increases and you can't speak with a nurse at your doctors office, you might consider an ER.

@Meowingkitty Have you tried heat? Heat makes my knee feel better.

I have arthristis in both knees and a bakers cyst behind both knees (because of the arthritis). At times I can barely walk.

I went to the doctor today and he checked out my knee and gave me a shot of an inflammatory and it feels so much better.

I had a job driving. I drove from 8 AM till 6 PM
One of my kness became "tender"
I had to align my knee to fix this. Kinda like bad posture.
I used to walk 11 miles a day.
I cut that down to 3 miles and started to carry a backpack with 50 LBS.
One knee became tender.
No more 50 LBS.
The pain went away in about 4 months

If it seems like the pain is especially located on the back of the knee... you have a bursi sak there that can get inflamed... here is a explaination of that.

Keep icing it and taking an anti-inflammatory. If you are not on a blood thinner, a higher dose, spread throughout the day, might help. Other than that, let your doctor take it from there.

See bolded language.
This may/probably speak of an ACL or PCL strain, sprain, slight tear or full tear. The ACL and PCL are ligaments, which heal very slowly. My recs:
1. Contact your internist and get in as soon as you're able. Tell them, "I have intractable pain in the back of _________ (right or left) knee and have pain at a level of ______ (1-10). It has disabled me to the extent that ____________. (Also tell them what kind of pain you have, which can be more than one: aching, stabbing, lacerating, pins and needles, pinching, etc.)
2. Also, tell them that you've take over the counter NSAIDs to no effect, so need to be seen.
If it were me, I'd make sure I also received a referral to a Sports Medicine doc, as you may be a candidate for an MRI.
Good luck. Let us know how things go.
