I just finished listening to Will Tuttle.
What a sweet soul. Yes, I need to learn more from him.
Thank you for turning me on to his teachings.

Thank you for sharing your experience with fasting. I am concerned with a comment you made about altering my metabolism. I think just yesterday I read that on a water fast even adding sugar-free drinks can upset one's metabolism. I certainly don't want this experience to cause damage.
When I stop fasting, I plan to once again try IF. I need to work out what window of eating will work best. Being married, I feel obligated to share dinner together, but getting up so early I tend to eat something before noon.
I never thought I would eliminate meat, cheese and eggs from my diet following a low carb way of life for a very long time. But you are so right WFPB food is delicious and even in the almost year I have been a devotee, plant based restaurants seem to be popping up all over the city.
I have not watched "Live Vegan Vibrantly" but thank you for the recommendation. I will do so!

@sidsmom I am so happy that you were able to experience WT. He is such a gentle soul and has taught me how to respond to those who continue to consume and harm animals without judgement or negativity. During a workshop I asked him the same question the moderator did regarding this issue. His book The World Peace Diet also was instrumental in helping me stay positive and understanding why people are not sensitive to the cruelty that exists.
When I watched today's interview, I was struck by the internal quality of his content as opposed to last year's contribution during the same docuseries...much more external as he was talking about his recent adventures in China and India and how lifestyles have been impacted by their culture and history. You can find this video on You Tube ...the Live Vegan Vibrantly docuseries Will Tuttle 2018.
Lots more to say...but I'm just so happy that you watched. Love ya, sister.

@magicmoodz Research has shown that fasting is more likely to raise your metabolism and will not have negative consequences long term; whereas, low calorie food restriction can have devastating long term effects and lower your metabolism. Having said that, I hope that you are not considering long term fasting for your first fast. I don't suggest what others should/should not do....just saying that a short-term juice fast might be a more optimal and successful choice. You might find some inspiration watching Joe Cross Fat Sick and Nearly dead....his fast was on juices and he healed himself as well as dropped significant weight. Of course, your decision and I wish you the best whatever you choose for yourself.

You’ve given me incentive to quit Starbucks.
I only have a couple $ on my card..and I’m down to 2x week,
so the transition should be easy. =:0
Good luck with your fast! Report back!
In full disclosure, if a friend were to say let's hook up for coffee, I WILL allow myself to indulge on occasion, but what I hope to never do again is to drink coffee (and lots of it) every day.
I don't crave it or even miss it. At 2 cups a week if you really enjoy it, I say go for a it. But I understand how empowering it can feel to free ourselves of something when we decide to.
I will definitely check in on my progress. I succeed when I am accountable!

Thank you for your kind words. I appreciate your wisdom and truly value your suggestions. I also admire your ability to successfully complete a long-term fast. Rest assured, while I have researched 40-day fasting, I know myself well enough to know that I could not be successful. I am not boxing myself in by putting an end date to my fast. I have not had food for 21 1/2 hours, but who's counting! I do want to reach the point where I get past the point of feeling hungry. I want to know what it feels like to like to have not eaten for several days and not crave food.
I am not really a fan of fruit juice (years of low carb conditioning) but I have enjoyed drinking warm/hot water today.
Thank you too for recommendations of videos that might help me stay focused. I have been surrounded by several relatively young people who have been diagnosed with dementia and have read that IF might help in keeping this tragic disease at bay. I feel that by starting with a fast, I might be able to incorporate IF in my every day life.
Thank you again @phoenixbrd for your insight. You inspire me!
