Re: JUST FOUND OUT ITS VERTIGO

Hope you feel better very soon. I have had a few bouts of Vertigo in the past 5-7 years and it is truly awful.

I wouldn't drive at all when having bouts of Vertigo. JMO

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: JUST FOUND OUT ITS VERTIGO

When I had it, i thought I was dying. Either having a heart attack or stroke. Got up one morning and everything was spinning. After it passed, I called in sick and went back to bed. A little later I got up and remembered reading about it here. I did a Google search and diagnosed myself. I followed up with the Dr and she confirmed. I had a couple minor episodes that week, then it went away. Hadn't been back since.

Re: JUST FOUND OUT ITS VERTIGO

Once, when I was hiking on a narrow trail up a mountain, for a moment I felt light headed, felt floating in air, and thought I was going to pass out and fall over the cliff ledge to my certain death. I should not have looked down. Just in a instant I saw a very bright white light in my eyes, and heard a voice in my head tell me that it was not my time to leave this world. It was Jesus telling me that. I quickly retained my footing, and did not fall. Praise Jesus! The power of prayer works miracles. Pray to Jesus, and you too will be cured of vertigo.

Re: JUST FOUND OUT ITS VERTIGO

I had my first Vertigo episode in January. I was driving to work and I had to pull over. I was about three blocks from work and I tried to pull myself together long enough to get to work. I was sweating, severe nausea, and everything was spinning. I was waiting for the chest pains to start as I was sure I was having a heart attack. I had a co-worker drive me to the nearest Urgent Care. After several tests, they diagnosed me with Vertigo. Gave me some medicine and told me to get an appointment with my doctor. I ended up going to my ENT who said that I had a viral infection in my right ear and he was certain that it had caused the Vertigo. He did a hearing test which showed that I had lost a considerable amount of hearing in that ear. He have me prednisone and said that there really wasn't anything else he could do since it was viral. I have an appointment next week to see him again to see if any of my hearing came back. I'm pretty sure that it hasn't.

Re: JUST FOUND OUT ITS VERTIGO

It is terrible, and it comes on just out of nowhere. The medication they gave me caused me to be so tired and it really doesn't help clear the vertigo.

If your hearing hasn't comeback yet I wouldn't stress too much. I had a 4 month vertigo spell from a bad ear infection in my left ear. I ended up having to go to a hearing doctor and he confirmed the hearing loss but did say it can take up to one year to come back. While I do still have some hearing loss in that year it's not nearly as bad as it was. Hopefully your hearing will improve as well

Re: JUST FOUND OUT ITS VERTIGO

In the fall I get it sometimes and it is caused by sinus and allergy issues.
