Pull the skin under your lower lashes out like a pouch.
Hold head back but make sure you can still look into the mirrow.
While looking in the mirrow, put the drops into the pouch.
Let the pouch go. While head is back, blink a few times.
Wipe off any excess.
Do the same for the other eye.
Another vote for this method. It works.

I also do the 'slight head tilt, pull out lower eye lid a bit to expose area, then put drops in there'. Works perfectly every time.

@debcakes wrote:I went for a routine eye exam and the Dr. said I have the beginning of dry eyes. I had no idea. She gave me some drops for it but so far they all have ended up on my upper lids, lower lids, eyelashes, and cheek. Seems no matter what I try, they don;t make it into my eyes.
Does anyone have any good advice? Thanks
Had cataract sugery on both eyes. 4 times a day for what seemed like forever
. Like you I never had much luck in the past so I had to find a way.
For me? I sat in a lounge chair/reclined as far back as I could/tipped my head back/pulled my lower lid out, and let'er rip. Best for me.

Mine is a slight variation .... I put a couple drops in the corner of my eye and then lift my top lid and the drops run to the top .... then gently pull the lower lid so the drops run downward. That way, the eye drops cover the whole inner eye ball.

This is the way that I was taught to do it, too. It does work well. ![]()

I've been using Restasis or Lotemax for about 8 years. I was taught to tilt my head back and close my eyes. With my fingers I gently open the outer corner of each eye then place a drop in the eye. This way nothing rolls down my cheeks.

Some eyedrops are almost tortuous to apply. My 94 year old Mom has to use eyedrops for glaucoma. They come in a set of several tiny, tiny bottles. The little bottles have a small dropper to deliver drop. It is one of those bendable plastic spigots you pull forward to dispense drop. It is hard! IDK why they use this system Must be a reason, but it is agony for Mom to dispense drop in each eye

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will try them all and see how they work. So far, I have used the method in front of the mirror and pulling out the lower lid. That way I can see exactly what I am doing. getting the drops in the corner of my eye is what was not working for me. Again, thanks for the tips. I am sure it will get easier with practice.
