Yes, @SilleeMee , the problem I have now is twisting the darned thing off (you can relate in spades) because my hands just won't work fast enough.  I generally over fill a bit to compensate.

Back on track:  the old retainers went in the trash.  Yuck.  Same with the old case.  Bad memories.

@Sweetbay magnolia

For the past 2-1/2 years I was getting a dental makeover (implants/implant crowns). Just a few months ago I got my front six, canine to canine, crowned (traditional) with the teeth of my dreams. They are gorgeous. They don't even look like my original teeth at all. The new crowns look perfect. I just love them and now I have my confidence back so I smile all of the time now. Best thing I ever did for myself in a long time.

Oh - another question:  do you use a fizzy cleaner or just brush them?

I do both. Once a week, or so,  I use an ultrasound cleaner designed for dentures and retainers. There are tablets you can use in the system to deodorise them. Also, I find it simpler to brush, with tooth paste, the inside of the retainer first, then insert my retainers in my mouth to brush the exterior. My dentist suggested using Dawn dish liquid with a tooth brush to clean them and rinse them well. PLEASE DO NOT USE DAWN IN YOUR MOUTH.  I don't think it would be  pleasant experience.

I did Invisalign in 2008, took 10 months of trays.  Since then I can honestly say in the past 15 years I have worn my retainers all but about 10 nights in the entire time.  My teeth shift very easily and I had waited over 50 years for straight teeth so I am pretty compliant.  My ortho charges $300 for retainers top and bottom which is not bad and I get new ones every couple of years.

I did invisalign a few years ago. Just had my retainers done about a year ago.

I was told to soak them in 1/2 peroxide 1/2 water. Dental cleaning products scratch the appliances apparently. I use food grade HP and am very happy b/c my retainers are still clear. I also brush them before putting them in the solution.

I wear them every night. When I whiten my teeth, I use my old awful appliance b/c I cannot damage it further.

@SilleeMee So happy you are at the end of that journey and are smiling again with joy

I wear mine faithfully. If I forget, I get up and put them in.
