@Luvsmyfam Mention it to your doc but he/she may have ideas of other methods. There may be something over the counter that is cheaper and not as strong as a drug. Good luck! I've taken 5 mg of zolpidem (genetic for ambien) for years with no bad side effects.

I have suffered from insomnia my entire life. Even as a kid. When I can't sleep I take a Tylenol pm. It's that or no sleep for me.

I have used Lunesta in the past and it worked wonders for me.  Easy to fall asleep and STAY asleep.  Woke Up fine with no fogginess.  Also tried Ambien and could not fall asleep and once dozing off I could not stay asleep, woke up every hour.  Hope this helps.  Good luck

@Luvsmyfam When I was in the hospital for 8 days I was given ambien and it gave me awful vivid dreams so my doc changed me to something else.

Zolpidem is different from ambien as it's the generic and IMO is NOT as strong and does not have any bad side effexts for me.

so,maybe I should ask about zolpidem instead of ambien.usually,my dr prescribes generic for all my scripts anyway

I wouldn't take those sleep drugs. I have restless legs that twitch. I started taking Circulation and Vein support and my twitching doesn't keep me awake. I also take a Calcium/Magnesium supplement before bed which helps me fall asleep.

An antihistamine (hay fever pill) will do it...
