I've read that tea tree and lavender oils each provide relief from bug bites. -- Please go online first to verify that I'm right about suggesting these particular oils because I'm not positive that I'm right about both oils.

You should probably dilute them with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil using 95% jojoba oil to a maximum of a total of 5% essential oils (such as tea tree or lavender oil).

Always do a skin patch test first on a less sensitive part of your skin (e.g. arm or leg) to make sure that it doesn't irritate your skin.

I'm allergic to ant bites....I swell up and get super itchy. I've used a clay bar with success. I use a little water to turn the clay to mud and then apply a layer to the area. It's supposed to draw out the toxins, like you said about the Epsom salts. It works really well for me. The brand I have is Fresh Umbrian Clay...bought it from sephora 2-3 years ago.

The redness indicates a reaction to the histamines in your sons body from the insect bite. My suggestion is that he take Benadryl orally, and apply hydrocortisone ointment to the bite area. An ice pack will help relieve pain and swelling. I would not recommend the Epsom salt soak.

Another vote for Benadryl (or similar). It might be a wasp bite.

I agree, too, with the ice pack suggestion...it's probably already available at home...or you can throw one together in no time. It should at least feel soothing Smiley Happy

Thank you everyone.

I think I will try the Bendaryall and Hydrocortisone cream. Because he can apply & take the pill right away. I heard of that, plus he can pick that up later before he goes to work this eve. I have a Walgreen's and new Walmart near his job.

I will research the tree tea oil and lavender oil removes stress too, think DR.Oz says he and his family uses it.

and also the Clay soap never heard of that sounds like it helps,I will research that online and check out Amazon..

well, that is what I first thought of a Wasp bite, I got bit on my eye lid once, I got a cotton ball in warm water applied it to my eye, I was outside cleaning a window when along came a big wasp, day we returned home from Branson.I guess I will never forget it?

Thank you and, sorry to get off the subject, hope you enjoyed the Cooking shows yesterday I could not resist the sales and easy pays. I did not get a Kitchen Aid food processor.

I wanted the pineapple cutter, time I got to phone said on waitlist called c/s,all sold out even when David ended the show in all the colors, really fast,I checked online no problem, on waitlist Q.V.C had a problem with automated system ordering, late last night after 10p.m.Have a great day.
