Has anyone tried this? It's been around for a while, but I just had my first 30-minute session yesterday. It was so relaxing! There were lots of benefit claims that I take with a grain of salt though.  Especially that part about burning 600 calories (as if) during a 30-minute session.  I cannot afford to do this on a regular basis but I will definitely treat myself with a session from time to time. Interested to see if others have had health benefits or have a home sauna.

I've been wanting to try an Infared Sauna.

There's a small studio near me which offers that service

I just might have to try!

For those reading, an infared sauna doesn't change the temperature

of the air since it's heating from within.

@chvall99  Did you feel warm or sweaty afterwards?

DH is getting one for me this Christmas.  I love them.  Costco has some great deals going on right now.  Cannot wait.  It's even more special since I mentioned I would like one in passing with him.  Love that guy!!

@sidsmom At my area salon, the charge was $20 for 30 minutes.  I thought 30 minutes was perfect for me. It was my first time so the salon used a temp of 146.  I did perspire slightly, and my skin definitely glowed afterward!  I was doing some research and learned that my experience was normal for the first time; apparently you perspire a lot more in subsequent sessions.

PS I was thinking that it really was not that warm, but then my magazine totally fell apart in my hands.  The heat had softened the glue holding it together!

@Hoovermom @SeaMaiden Oooh, it was only one session and I was thinking I want this at home!  No Costco near me though.  @Hoovermom you are fortunate to have such a flexible husband.  I think mine would be very skeptical about installing something he would consider a fad.  The idea is planted though.  I am going to start an infrared campaign.  He has hip pain and I am pretty sure that the increased core heat would help him. And I have a March birthday and a bonus at work. Hmmm.

@chvall99 :  I am ordering my sauna online at Costco.  They are having a sale starting on December 27 and that the one that I am getting.  Aren't they wonderful?  I did them when I was a crossfitter and loved it.  We hope to enjoy it for years to come.  Have a great Christmas.
