I get up every 2 hours to use the restroom no matter what I do.  I also have water nearby at night because I wake up with a dry mouth.

I don't stop... my biggest problem is staying hydrated (and the older I get the worse it gets). I'd rather get up during the night than be dehydrated.

The last thing I do before I go to bed is drink a glass of water. Not a huge glass, about 6oz. Yes I do get up at least once to use the bathroom.

I've had three kidney stones in my life and my urologist told me years ago to drink a glass of water before bed. He also said if I'm not getting up at least twice, I'm not drinking enough. However, I find if I get up a second time, I have a really hard time getting back to sleep.

If you've ever had a kidney stone you know why I'll do anything not to ever get another one.❤

@ECBG I drink a glass of water with supper around 7.

I go to bed anywhere between 10 & midnight &, of course, I go to the bathroom before I get into bed.

Then I get up at 1:30. 3:30, 5:45 & 8.

If I go to bed closer to 10 I will add an 11:30 into that.

That's me. I don't even have to look at the clock, I know it's around two hours between trips.

I drink something all evening long and usually get up once a night.

Right now I have a glass of wine, water glass and a half cup of coffee next to me.

I used to not drink anything past 10, years ago.

Now it doesn't seem to matter if I do or don't and now I drink something all day and night.

No matter what I do I always get up after 4 or 5  hours no matter what time I go to bed. 3am was the magic hour for me my mother and aunts but lately I'm trying to stay up later so I can get up with a lot of the rest of the world!

Then I take a lovely long winters nap a few hours later in the day.

@OKPrincess,

That's funny! You sound like me. And I like hot and cold at the same time too. With wateror anything cold- tons of ice.

And my son always says, "Mom, why do you always have 3 glasses in the refrigerator? Well, because what if I don't finish them? I still like them to be cold and I'm not going to throw them out or always drink them all at once!Woman LOL

I do this when I'm visiting him or daughters and just try to keep it to one lol!

It's still icy in the morning for when I wake up!  Woman LOL

I'm the same way lol.  I always go to bed with a bottle of icy water on the bedside table.  I get thirsty at night and my mouth gets dry, even though I use biotene mouthwash.  I just have to keep something there.  I usually do have to get up to use the bathroom though. And...I have had an occasional accident from time to time, bad as I hate to admit that.😟

I keep liquids with me day and night. It's extremely important for me to stay hydrated. When sleeping overnight, my mouth gets very dry and I need to have something to drink nearby. I rarely get up to use the bathroom but will upon rising in the morning.

I have had fibromyalgia for over 25 years. I know from asking my doctor that most of those with fibromyalgia will get up at least 2-3 times a night. The body hurts and also there is the little thought in the back of the head that you might as well get up and go to the bathroom.

I have also had kidney stones so I try to maintain hydration and if it causes me to wake up in the middle of the night I guess that is OK.

I don't think I have gotten a good night sleep in over 30 yrs because who knows when or if I will fall asleep after waking.
