Sorry I forgot to answer about the doc situation here. I go to an Army fort as DH is retired and all is free there. They are downsizing so spouses will not be seen there in the near future. I tried a new FNP here in town. No Endo docs and nearest is 60+ miles from here. Saw her 1 time and she gave me Levimer which is not available at the fort and expensive too. They may refer me back to her.
Has anyone tried doctor on demand? I sure wish this was an option for me as I could do my labs in town. Thanks, Cathy

@Jackhound Mom160 for fasting is high. A random testing during the day, should be 130.at the highest . When you test in the mrorning it should be under 150. Two hrs after eating, it should be under 180 ,and no higher than 150, at bedtime
You need to change your diet and not eat like your husband can. The best medical minds, in the world advise a low carb diet
Carbs are in everything, so you need to start reading, and watching what you eat. Pasta , flour, rice ,potatoes, bread, fruit , crackers, and vegs all contain carbs.
You must understand diabetes is progressive, so we have to be vigilant. It is a day to day battle
Your A1c will tell the story of your blood sugar level, over the last few months. This gives a clearer picture, of how you are doing over all
The net is filled with good advice but you must be careful, who you listen to. Start with the American Diabetes Assn. I try to post the newest medical advice ,and news, on my diabetes threads. There are diabetes forums that can help a great deal

And, to add to @cherry 's good advice, watch out for the carbs in dairy, too.

@aubnwa01is correct. If you need dairy in your diet, fair life ,has an ultra filtered milk that is low carb. I has about 8 grams of sugar per 8 oz, and could fit into a meal plan easily
Keep your carbs no more than 100 grams per day, and see what happens. I can't give you an exact number, because everyone is different, some people might be able to have more carbs, and others less. It depends on the individual

@Jackhound Mom don't make the mistake of thinking if you aren't
overweight, you can't be diabetic. You can, and you can be overweight, and not have diabetes
