Yesterday, (pre snow) my top of the leg joints were so painful that I had trouble standing. Went to my chiropractor the day before that and by a few hours later no pain. But it started 2 days after Christmas all of a sudden. I've never had it before. I had been putting up with pain at the back of the butt bone about 1-2" down from that. The Chiro (he always helps my pain out) said my tendon was a bit tight so he massaged it to loosen it up. But yesterday scared me. I'm thinking it could be arthritis. Today, the left one is just fine after a night's rest. The right one, isn't as bad as yesterday so far.
I will see how it goes later today. update: I got a Dr. appt. for Thurs. some pain is back!
Has anyone here had this and does it sound back related (nerve) or arthritis? The weather is up and down this last week.
I do know I can go to the doctor, no need to mention that, but I just wonder if anyone else has experienced that. I mean it came on so suddenly, and now the left one seems ok. I'm confused.
Thanks.

I feel for ya! Can't say what it might be but it sure could be arthritis. This sounds like me. I might be doing pretty good one day and the next --- oh, my --- so many things hurt and I feel like --- what happened? Did someone beat me up in my sleep? I have been told by numerous doctors -- primary, rheumatologists, etc., that arthritis can definitely be like this. You can have really good days and other days ---- it hits you so suddenly. I hope it lets up for you!!!!

@AngelPuppy1, thanks so much for that. I think you're right. I don't want to panic and run to the doctor when it's not necessary. It so helps to read what you wrote. I appreciate that. Sure sounds like what is going on.

Go to the doctor!

My aches and pains get worse each year. It would be wise to contact your doctor, just as a precaution. I plan to spend time this year on the Wellness Board just to look for tips and suggestions.

I assume you are talking about your hips, though you aren't clear about that. Generally speaking - hip arthritis pain presents as pain in the groin area because that is where the hip joint is located - pain on the outer aspect of the hip can have numerous causes like bursitis or can be caused by pinched nerves in your spine. You need to see a doctor to get x rays and perhaps an MRI to determine what the source of the pain is so it can be treated.

I'm only having a bit of achy going on now. But next visit with my doctor (soon) we'll go to this conversation. Thanks all!
I should sign off my achy breaky bod.

@qualitygal What do you mean TOP OF THE LEG JOINTS??? Hips? Knees?
12-30-2016 09:51 AM
@SeaMaiden, top of my leg joint. Left one is fine and dandy and the right one is only achy/sore today. I'd had an adjustment at the Chiro's the day before for a different problem. It's so good to be out of that pain!!!

My I suggest to all of you going to a massage therapist. I know from personal experience that they can do wonders for aches and pains. My DIL works for a Cyropractor and is scheduled out for 6 months at a time. When you are in pain your muscles tighten up which makes it worse. I guarantee you will fill better.
