Isn't it fun to receive a new prescription and read all the side effects, precautions and drug interactions associated with the drug? I very seldom will start taking a new prescription unless I do some research about it on the web, call my pharmacist (who is the best person to get information, IMO) and will then have to make the final decision on if the risks of taking this med are less than continuing to suffer with whatever I would be taking the med to get rid of! In many cases, you may be getting rid of one thing but then exchanging for two or three new problems from taking the med. Talk about playing Russian Roulette! Does anyone else feel like I do? My new prescription usually sits a day or two before I feel comfortable or informed enough to take it. There have also been many instances when I have refused to take it just because of the long list of very scarey side effects. There's hardly a day that goes by when some drug isn't being recalled or is getting negative news feed that was previously listed as one of the "safest" drugs on the market. Very distressing!
