My GYN stops Pap testing at 65 for those who have had normal test results for a specific length of time AND are negative for HPV, which is a contributing factor to gynecological cancers.

Thanks for the information, that makes me feel better that my doctor isn't the only one.

@cheriere Please don't put it off.    As a survivor I can speak that it can save your life.

@LindaSal   I'm so sorry you had to go through breast cancer. But I'm thrilled that terrible ordeal is behind you & you kicked cancers butt!!!

I'm supposed to get yearly mammograms after I had an issue with my left breast.  The  biopsy turned out to be benign THANKFULLY.  It's been since Covid that I've had one....but I do have one scheduled in February, along with a pap, something else I'm not up to date on.

@spumoni99 Thank you for both for taking the time to post this. You're VERY KIND. 😊💕❤️  There may be someone who reads this thread and remembers its time to get one too.

Its interesting, I am 62 and just went in for my pap a few months ago, my doctor said after I come back at 65 I no longer need pap smears, seems odd.  She explained why I don't remember exactly why.  I am with Kaiser and they are very aggressive about prevention so I was surprised.

@spumoni99  I have Kaiser too and they will still perform this test upon request. I have a family history of cervical/uterine/ovarian cancers and so I still get tested. I'm 70 and have an appt the end of January.
