Cold hands could be Reynauds, which is also autoimmune. I have an underactive thyroid but I don't have Hashimoto's. My hands/feet are always cold. Everyone else can be comfortable or even warm, I'm always cold.

The first thing I noticed was bad hair loss. Now that I'm on meds some of it came back, not all, but some.

Usually more insomnia, leg cramping, but maybe cold hands. I've taken meds for it for about 13 years but don't remember cold hands. Hair loss I think may be another.

I have Hashi's and am the opposite-run warm all the time ! Summers I am in a sweat past 80 degrees. Socks to bed NEVER - I am always trying to find the cold spot in the bed w/my feet to cool me down. No hair loss for me either a little fatigue but losing weight and keeping it off is HARD I have to be so disciplined if I waiver weight is back on -low calorie, gluten sensitive and HIT exercising works .

I just had my thyroid removed a few months ago. It was a process. My daughter had 1/2 of her's removed. My other daughter will have make this decision soon, as will the other daughter.

It took a few years of trying to first figure out what it was. I kept saying, something was wrong. Finally I went to an endochronologist and he did lots of testing and I had many biopsies done.

I don't regret for a minute I had it removed, neither does my daughter. She had trouble getting her dosage right (this often happens when you only have a portion removed).

I feel so much better since I had it removed. I have to take a very high dosage of medicine for the rest of my life, but it's worth it when I think of how terrible I felt before.

I hope you get it straightened out. Just remember you know your body better than anyone, anyone. Don't let people question how you feel. Be agressive in finding out why you feel bad.

Life is too short not to feel good.

Thanks for these words. I am currently on meds as I was hyperthyroid and have what is now diagnosed as a toxic multi-nodular goiter. Had the goiter for # of years. On meds to get me back into normal range. I think the treatment in the end will be to kill the thyroid gland. Not anxious for that..but what you said about "not feeling well", I get that. And yes I'd have to take thyroid meds for the rest of my life... good to hear it is worth as you feel better as a result!

And oh yeah...having to be aggressive, you are so right. Women know their bodies and it is often difficult to get the treatment needed for thyroid so one can feel better; and, true for so many issues related to women's health in general!

I have hypo so. Have been on meds for15 yrs now. When was first diagnosed, i was freezing allover and so fatigued. But the meds really helped. BUT....i am still always the coolest one in the room & my hands and feet will occasionally get cold where i do have to put on some fingerless mitts (still needed to type). And my temperature is usually somewhere between 97.6 and 98.0.

Ladies, please remember that if you are taking thyroid REPLACEMENT it does require a prescription but it is something that youare giving your body because your body REQUIRES IT. I notice that there are people who refuse to seek treatment for thyroid problems because they are afraid to take MEDICINE if they must have their thyroid glands removed. Although there ARE medicines that are taken to treat the effects of HYPERthyroidism, levoxcyl and Armour Thyroid are taken to replace the hormone that your gland will no longer be making. Sometimes the vocabulary of this lousy, dangerous disease is as bad as the disease itself.
