I saw some weighted hula hoops on Amazon and wondered if anyone uses one for exercise. --any comments?

YES!!! The weighted ones are fantastic and much easier to keep up than the cheap ones from the 70s!  I used to be able to use those and keep them going but the last time I tried it, I couldn't keep it on my hips.  The weighted one I can keep going for a long time.

I actually have one that I have used for exercising (it's not weighted).  I found that 5 minutes with that thing is a pretty good workout.  Longer than that would get boring, though.

YES, I have several.  I took up hoop dance about 5 years ago.  Heavier ones are good for some moves and the speedier lightweight ones are good for others.

A great place to get a hoop is Etsy and the vendor is Hoopmama.  All handmade and lots of them to choose from. Plus helpful measuring info to help you get the right one for you.

I never thought I'd be hooping around my legs or my neck, but I can do that now as well as waist and hips.  Shoulder hooping is still a challenge, but when it clicks it's great.

I do more modern and ballet these days but I still pick up my hoop for fun.

TY all for your input. There is certainly a variety just at Amazon. Some reviews mention some breaking and the weighted ones bruising them -- but of course reviews of most items are hot, cold, & in between.

I think I will try a weighted one though. A few years back I purchased one at 'toys r us' for kids and couldn't keep it going. When I was 10 I used one for hours ! (but that has been awhile ago)

I am always looking for something to add to my daily you had better use it or you will lose it exercise. I think this may be added. Seems like it could be good for muffin top that is developing even though my weight hasn't increased.
