Try gargling with Lysterine twice a day.

What ever you do, don't allow yourself to get immunocompromised...no heavy smoking, heavy drinking alcohol and eating lots of worthless junk food. Stay as healthy as you can be....whatever that takes.

Wash hands frequently, stay well hydrated & get enough rest & eat a balanced diet.

Spray a lot of Lysol. DD had it once and I kept spraying and never caught it. I was the main caretaker for her as well.

All of the above & take Vitamin D3 to keep your immune system strong!

Try to confine your husband to one room, one bathroom.
Add a splash of bleach to dishwater if you hand wash your dishes.
Wear a mask and wipe down the bathroom surfaces daily; if you use Clorox wipes, remember it’s one wipe to one surface to prevent cross contamination.
Allow fresh air into the house daily; if you have a heat pump, switch over to a/c for about half an hour to pull inside air to the outside.
Put neosporin or bacitracin around your nostrils to trap bacteria; I learned this from my doctors office staff.
Douse your toothbrush with peroxide after brushing.

At this point I think it's too late for you not to catch it unless your flu shot works better for you.

I guess it's really bad in our state right now. A few people where DH works have had it. I told DH he better not bring it home. I told him to stay in his office plus close his door.

@barb40 When I'm stressed or around this kind of illness I take 1000 units of Vitamin C organic vitamins with natural berries that have acerola and rose hips and no magnesium stearate or fillers that are non-GMO.
Others here have given you excellent ideas as well.
I hope you escape catching it from your husband.

@barb40 - Also, think about disinfecting remote controls, door knobs, light switches, handles (refrigerator, and the toilet - every part of it). I'd also wipe down keys and don't forget the car (steering wheel and anything you'd touch). Hope your husband is feeling better soon and that you don't get the flu!
