I use Q-tips without any problems. My doctor told me I had the cleanest ears. LOL

If I feel mine have wax in them I use Debrox earwax remover. I'm not going to the doctor for that?

I recommended Debrox earlier in this thread and OP ignored my post. Maybe she'll respond to yours.

I used Q-tips for years with no problems until a couple of months ago when the tip of my Q-tip got stuck in my ear. I tried for an hour to get it out with tweezers. Had DH shine his phone light into the canal, hoping he could see it and get it out. No luck. Had to go to my doctor the next morning and they were able to flush it out. Embarrassing. Never will I use one again! Now I just tilt my head a bit after a shower and use a Kleenex wrapped around my finger to dry it out.

This brought back memories. Many years ago my dad lost a Q-tip in his ear canal. My mother couldn't get it out so they had to take him to the emergency room to have it removed. When I checked his Q-tip box, it was an off brand and many of the tips were easily tugged off.

@shoesnbags - Funny you mention that. My sister asked if it was the Q-tip brand. I checked our hall closet and wouldn’t you know it was the store brand. 🤔

Hope OP sees it. It works for me. Beats going to the doctor.
