Re: How do you carry your large phone while walking with no pockets?

Is there a holster clip that can attach to the outside of a purse? I don't wear belts.

Fitbit can track steps, it can't call for help.

If your health is that iffy, perhaps you should get a treadmill and stay home.

Don't be silly. Anyone can have an accident no matter what health! Also, What if you see someone else that needs help?

Exactly. And many people in poor health - or recovering from injuries - are instructed by their doctors to get out and walk. People who are recovering from heart attacks & other things are out walking all the time, and it's ridiculous to suggest that they should stay home. And yes, anything can happen to anyone - or the phone may be needed for someone else's emergency.

Also: This past winter I left my house briefly to do some shoveling behind my car after a snowstorm. I almost didn't bring my phone because I thought it would be more of a nuisance than anything, but at the last minute I brought it with me. It was more icy than I had expected, and - for reasons to long to go into - I had to call for help. I had come SO close to not having my phone with me, and now I am sure to have it with me all the time. Because you never know!

Would the phone fit in a gun holster?

Re: How do you carry your large phone while walking with no pockets?

I finally decided to buy the Vera Bradley mini hipster in classic black. I got a new one off Ebay about $20 cheaper than the VB site and free shipping.

It is cloth, so it bouncing around surely won't bother that much. I will only have my phone and keys in it. I will make a card with contact info. to leave in the ID window.

I hope it isn't bigger than I am picturing. I will of course wear it crossbody. Just thought I'd update.

I wear a waist/hip pack from Amazon, but Amazon also has running 'belts' that have pouches.

I leave it at home. Peace and quiet ... no phone.

Why don't you then just put the phone on vibrate, or mute the ring, but still carry it with you for safety reasons?

The Spibelt looks good to me. I didn't know there was such a thing.

I think a crossbody would flop and bother my neck now that I'm thinking about it. I didn't even know about the Spibelt.

I want my phone with me so I can call for help if I need it. I'm 58 and walk alone in a small town. I'm not scared of someone getting me, I'm scared of twisting my ankle or something.

I will continue to search a bit before making a decision, but the Spibelt looks like it would be the most comfortable.

Thank you all!

Why not? You should be.

Crime experts have always said that no one is safe anywhere. And there are more messed-up people (especially men) who don't care about the consequences if they get caught harming or killing someone.

Plus, you're a much more-vulnerable target if you're a woman, petite, in bad shape, and/or have gray or white hair. Criminals - well, almost everyone - make a snap decision just based on outward appearance.

I have a Samsung Note 3 and while I love the phone, I need to figure out how to take it with me walking in clothes with no pockets. Jeans are too hot to wear.

I have seen the arm bands. This is a big phone and I think the arm band would really bother me. I would also want an arm band that would fit the phone that is already in a case. I wouldn't want to remove my case everytime since the case is hard to remove. Any suggestions if I go that route? I have a trident case on it which I think is as big as the Otterbox.

I think the ideal thing would be a nylon bag on a strap. I can't find one that is the right size that would fit the phone without being too big.

Or even a flat fannie pack type bag that would go around my waist? I don't want those old fashioned ones that stick out a lot though.

What do you suggest?

Thanks!

I suggest you just leave it at home if you don't have pockets. Seriously .... you're just going for a walk, right? I promise .... it won't kill you to just walk and leave the phone at home. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

The OP is asking for suggestions on how to carry her phone. NOT a lecture about using a phone. I would find something like the old fanny packs to carry your larger phone. (I can't live without my phone too!)
