I have a Samsung Note 3 and use Straighttalk. It works on ATT towers. I have unlimited talk, text and 3 GB of data for $45 a month.
Pretty cheap to me!
That is a good price..if you are living by yourself, but that would be $90 for me and DH and I'm sure even higher with taxes and fees. It's just not cost effective for us.
Yes, DH and I each have a phone. We both need them for our businesses, so we can warrant the price I guess. Just to clarify, we don't use them as an income tax deduction. But we do need to be reachable. I also use mine for the calendar and reminders to do things for work.
We don't have a landline at home, so that helps too I guess. We do have to pay for business (landline) phones though.

None of us really need these big phones with us. None of us really need to access the internet while out for a stroll or shopping. No, you really don't. A phone to call or text someone and possibly a camera to snap a pic but, no, you don't need the big phone. It makes me chuckle how the early "car" phones and "mobile" phones were so big and a few years ago we all laughed at photos of them because we then had nice compact little phones that would fit in your pocket. And now, because the makers of technology know that there is no money to be made in a product that never changes, the only thing they could do is start going big again! I don't think "smart" phones are smart. I think they're just luring the public into believing it needs these things. I have a very good Samsung phone with a great camera. And in a pinch I can access the internet but I never do. And it's approximately 3" wide and 4" long and fits in my pocket.

I wouldn't think of leaving my residence without my phone! It has my In Case of Emergency (ICE in Contacts), medications I'm taking...things that First Responders look for in case I wasn't able to speak.

I wish clothing makers would start realizing that ladies now a days need pockets to carry our phones.

I just throw it in a pocket and leave it home when I have no pockets. I have an arm holder for it but it is huge and I don't like wearing it. Wow, I need to look into straight talk. I don't have unlimited and pay twice that amount. I agree with the cross body bag or hipster. I do use a fanny pack when I absolutely need it even though they are so dated.
Did you know that you can use the phone you have now and switch it to Straighttalk? You don't have to buy "their" phone.
You just call ST and they will send you a free sim card. I bought my sim card and then found out they will send you one for free. At least they did for someone just a few months ago. You may have to have your carrier unlock your phone. They should do that with no problem if you are not still in a contract.
You can also keep your existing phone number. I did when I switched several years ago.
I don't buy my cards monthly as it was a nuisance. After a few months, I just gave them my CC number. They just bill my CC monthly and I pay it every month like I do my other bills.
I just thought I'd let you know how it works.

Of course I can go without my phone, but why should I have to if I don't want to?
My large phone fits in my pocket just like yours does, however I was asking for when I wear clothes that don't have pockets. I like to wear yoga pants out walking and mine don't have pockets.
I do NEED my phone even though you don't. We have businesses and we do need our phones. I "could" go without it, but if I don't have to I won't.
We CAN go without lots of things including electricity, but I sure wouldn't want to.

Sometimes, I dont think straight. It is really too expensive per month for the amount of time I use my phone. Also, now that I think about it T Mobile has this as well. You can bring them an unlocked phone and get unlimited text and talk for 45. I think the data is only 500 so that is quite a diff from 3g. Oh well, I am locked in for now but will definitely look into these options when I can.On 8/16/2014 aprilskies said: I have a note 2 and wish I got a smaller phone. I have Samsung Galaxy 3. I use what's called a fanny pack, some online @ ebags.
