I see it as a positive too..

"Human beings are herd animals. We survive only in highly coordinated groups. Individually, we are designed to pick up social cues and coordinate and align our behavior with those around us." Could not find the source to give credit.
Although lately those groups are anything but highly coordinated...our brethren animals have better behavior...pathetic

Sad that some don't realize the noun "herd" has more than one definition.

@Goldengate8361. Cows are dumb, dumb, dumb and they are not rational. Ever see a Western movie of a stampede caused by a thunderstorm? That's herd behavior in cattle.
@Kachina624 So what is that saying about the behavor of so many? I agree with @CoffeeNut and @Goldengate8361.

I agree -- I instantly think of a herd of cattle and then I think --- is this how we are all thought of??? Just a bunch of animals that they have to deal with? Not a good term at all! It really is demeaning.....

I would think that the word 'herd' is used more often in relation to animals ...but one of the definitions of 'herd' is ''a group of people usually having a common bond'''....I'd say the word ''herd'' fits the situation here also.

No, can't say it bothers me at all. But I'd heard the term "herd immunity" long before COVID and knew the meaning. So hearing it now didn't make an impression on me one way or the other. But all of those constant up-close shots of needles going into arms? Ugh!!

@Kachina624 I don't care about the term "herd immunity." We all know what it means. We all want it.
As for the thousands and thousands of images and videos of people having a needle pushed into their arm, I do agree with you on that, kachina. Why dies that have to be shown over and over?? I have to look away. I thought I was the only one squeamish about seeing that so many times.

No, I have no issue with the term whatsoever. Many more things to be concerned with that really impact our lives, I will focus on those.
