Have had 2 pancreatic surgeries and now I am pre diabetic. I have no appetite and can't eat a lot of food. unfortunately, I eat a lot of carbs because I can digest themeasily and they don't hurt my stomach. Take a lot of RX enzymes. Does anyone have any suggestions for easy, digestible foods? I try to eat vegs but I get sick from them! Do make veg smoothies in my vitamix. Thanks. Stay healthy.

I'm sorry you had to have pancreatic surgery. I don't really have any specific advice. Right now I'm reading Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution The Complete Guide to Achieving Normal Blood Sugars by Richard K. Bernstein, MD. This doctor has had diabetes for over 60 years and the book seems pretty comprehensive.

Bumping up your post.

So sorry you are having to deal with this, Coquille. My own situation is very simple compared to yours- per diabetic but able to manage with diet/exercise, but if I were in your situation I'd have a COUPLE consultations with specialists who were highly trained in the management of COMPLEX circumstances regarding pancreatic function, symptom management, etc. with all due respect to lovescats, I think your particular concerns need some focused solutions that are based specifically on your situation. Please post as you work to find good solutions for your needs.

It really sounds like this OP needs to see an endocrinologist .

ITA. As much as I like to chime in w/ these conversations, when you're dealing w/ someone that has pancreatic surgery, all questions should be directed to her medical professional. High carb, low carb...I'm quietly bowing out of this conversation. Anything otherwise is grossly irresponsible.

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's reasonable to hope that having had 2 pancreatic surgeries she's probably encountered an endocrinologist somewhere or another, but then, I think making rash recommendations about anyone's medical issues is definitely "grossly irresponsible".

Coquille I just wanted to say that I think for sure that you have spoken to your physician or health provider and you're just looking to see if anyone has gone through is going thru the same experience you have. I have posted questions on other medical support forums and sometimes it is nice to know that someone else has gone thru the same thing. ( not that I would really wish it on anyone but that's a different story).

I think sometimes the ideas on this board ( or other boards) can give your ideas for questions to ask your doctor. Please take care and stay healthy.

Thanks. I've been seeing several specialists, my endocrinologist and the top Endocinologist in the country. I went on the board to see if someone could suggest some kind of food that I could not think of. Thanks lovescats, I'll look into that book. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. Stay well.

I agree with HH. This sounds a bit too serious to ask a bunch of strangers. Medical professionals should be contacted.

I'd suggest seeing a dietician at the local hospital. Maybe your doctor or nurse can point you in the right direction. That to me would be a safe bet for you.
