Hold over the sink and squeeze the water 3 times into each nostril....let it run out into the sink...don't swallow or sniff just let it irrigate your sinus passages....do this first thing in the morning and before bedtime. You are clearing out pollen, dust, etc that you have breathed in during the day or has settled in your nose overnight. You can buy the bottle and prepackaged saline packets at the drugstore for very little money.
My Dad told me to do that. Even had a bottle of Ocean(/) but just couldn't handle it. I find vicks vaporrub hot coffee and a hot shower to help the best. As far as allergy pills - ng - just get used to dosage and have to keep upping it. Figure I gotta accept it and live with it - there are worse things in life.

Jax, I didn't have seasonal allergies until I moved to Maryland. With the help of my phenomenal MD and through trial and error, I take Claritan daily, and Claritan-D in November (heavy mold) and April (heavy ragweed).
Every summer, I would get a bad stye. I thought it was from mascara, because it usually happened around the time that I bought a MAC mascara. Somehow another, I found out it was due to allergies.
It took 7 years to fine tune this, but now I can breathe every day.
