@chrystaltree Many people who post on social media have no close friends or family to talk with..... your tone is so rude and mean to the poster....why? Perhaps people here are the Only friends she has right now... no need to criticize her or put her down.
Nor helpful or very nice how you worded your post..... you could have said it in a kinder way.....

@jubilantwrote:Just wanted to thank each of you for your answers. I did put a call into my doctor as you suggested. The recording suggests you call and leave a message "if it is urgent"....then it tells you "if it is an emergency go to the emergency room"????
I didn't think it urgent enough to do either, I guess. I finally just left a message on the urgent call line as that is the only way it could be done. Hopefully, they will get back with me in a timely manner.
Is there a covering Dr for the weekend?
************** There must be. When you call you get an answering machine that gives you 3 options. It says, "if this is an emergency call 911 or go to the hospital." Then it says "press a number for urgent calls and leave a message and phone number and someone would call you back (which hasn't happened). It gave me no other choice so even though I didn't think it urgent, I pressed that number and left my phone# and told them my problem. They obviously didn't think it was that urgent as I have not received a call back. My pulse rate is up to 57 now but I don't know whether to take my medicine or not? I think I may take only one (I take 2 a day) and call that enough for today till I can reach my cardiologists tomorrow.

II would call the office and leave a message saying: I forgot what the doctor said about my BP range on this new mediication. It is dropping and I need to talk to him.
Please call me ASAP.
I think it is rather urgent after all you have been through!
AND, have to say: Bless Your Heart!!!

@jubilant I hope you are feeling better today and have your answers from your doctor.
I just want to post to let you know you can always call your pharmacist about medication. They will be able to let you know if they think you need to wait for the doctor or if the side effect may be from the medication and/or you need medical attention ASAP. They can also look at any potential interactions you may be experiencing especially if you have them all filled in one place and offer suggestions.
Just a resource to take advantage of in the future in case you are ever caught out on the weekends again. There is a free doctor always on call about your meds.

I have a lot of heart problems because of Lupus and I take Metoprolol.
CALL YOUR DOCTOR TODAY. You could pass out if your BP is too low, and that is dangerous.
I also had the flu, just before Thanksgiving, and I still have not recovered.

IN THE HOSPITAL my BP dropped so low they had to perform life saving measures on me.
Do not let this go.

Thank you for your concern. I did call my Cardiologist this morning and talked to the nurse. She said she would relay my message to the NP and the NP would call me back. So far no one has called. I don't know what to do so I just didn't take my morning dose. My BP is normal and my pulse is back up to 57. That makes me feel a little better. I hardly ever call them so it's not like I bug anyone to death with daily phone calls. I don't think things are like they used to be. I didn't want to go to a clinic and expose myself to more flu so I am keeping my phone lines open waiting for the call.

************** Did you pass out, Noel? That would be so scary. I noticed myself (when it got to 53 and then 50) falling asleep in my chair while sitting up. Also was kind of clumsy and side-stepping. I haven't had that today but I think if I would have taken that morning pill this morning I might have.
I don't know why he (Cardiologist) thinks Metoprolol isn't the best choice for me (that is what the heart surgeon had me on). I felt I got along well with it. I still did have some BP's in that 140/90 range but not really that many. Most were normal and my pulse rates were never this low. I had been on it for over 5 months.

I think you did the smart thing by skipping a dose. You said you feel better and how you feel can be a very good gauge!
I will check the boards later on and I hope you will have heard from your doctor's offfice by then.
