@Noel7

That flu was nasty.  I am sorry you still have after effects. I wanted you to know that I prayed for you during your flu. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and a persons name from here comes to mind and I just ask God to help them.  I pray you will continue to regain your strength.

Well, they never called.  I finally called them a few minutes ago and the office is closed.  I got the same message:  physician is on call for urgent calls only.  I am not a happy camper.

Finally, got to talk to a doctor!  I called the urgent care line again and actually got a person this time who then gave me to a doctor.  I told him my dilemna and mentioned that I wasn't comfortable "dosing" (is that a word?) myself on medication but was left with no  alternative when no one would get back with me.

His exact words,  "that should never have happened" and I could tell it upset him that it did.  He said he understood why I cut my dose back to one pill a day instead of two.  He asked me what my BP's and pulse rate were today after doing that and he was pleased with those.  He cut my dosage in half and asked me if I had a pill cutter.  I said, yes. He want's me to cut that one pill in half and take half in the morning and the other half in the evening because Carvedilol is a short acting medication and it needs to stay in my system.  Tomorrow I will call my cardio dr. and try again.

Thanks for spurring me on!   I was about ready to just crawl under a blanket and say "nuts to this".  Ha!

I have a lot of heart problems because of Lupus and I take Metoprolol.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR TODAY.  You could pass out if your BP is too low, and that is dangerous.

I also had the flu, just before Thanksgiving, and I still have not recovered.

@Noel7...I noticed a prolonged cough and weakness. It just is one more reason I cannot wait until Spring. Possible storm expected here tomorrow...rain and snow.

Wow.  No return calls.   After all you have been through, I think that is neglectful.

I read more of your thread and you really are doing a remarkable  job of exercising on the treadmill.   You deserve congratulations.

I hope you get your answers tomorrow.  In the meantime, perhaps you can call a pharmacist.  They are usually very helpful and that is their forte.  Around here, there are pharmacies in supermarkets with pharmacists working later hours.

Best wishes................

@Elri

I called them, Elri and got my answer.  See post 34!  Thanks for the encouragement.  I am up to a 3 speed on my treadmill.  I didn't do it the few days I was really tired so will be glad to get this medication worked out so I can get back to exercising.

That is great!!  You knew something wasn't right from the start.

Now, you will feel much better physically-- as well as knowing you were right all along concerning the dosage.

Have a great evening!
