Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

My husband had one he could do at home years ago I didn't even think they did that kind anymore where you have to go in.

Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

My mother had two tests done at different times in her life. One was in a sleep study environment. The other was at home. The one at home was similar to a holter monitor.

Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

Yes, years ago I had one where I had to go to a facility.  I did not like that one but I completed it.

About two years ago i had another one, and I was able to do it at home. Much better.

Ask for the one that you can do at home.

Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

Exhausted ALL the time, so I did the home-version of a sleep study; the results indicated "minor" sleep apnea, so my doctor had me schedule a study in a facility. I was in a room by myself and once I was all hooked up with all the wires and probes, I was able to sleep through the night.

Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

I've had 2 of them. Nice room in the hospital and didn't have any trouble. I had major limb movements and some snoring according to the doctor. I now use a cpap and sleep like a baby. I also brought lots of snacks.

Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

@monicakm  You might check with your insurance provider. Nowadays, many insurances will pay for an "At home" sleep study as long as your Doctor has said it is medically necessary. I have Humana and they will pay for the "At home" sleep study as long as it is medically necessary. Worth checking in to.

Re: Have you ever had a sleep study test?

What makes you think you need one and did the doctor suggest it?

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.
