Has anyone had shingles?

I just broke out with shingles and can hardly believe it. Gave me some pills to take but will last 2-3 weeks. The pills won't clear it up faster but more the nerve endings later or something like that.

I wonder what brought this on and if there is something that triggers it besides having chicken pox as a kid.

Any advice what I should or shouldn't do?
