There has been a lot of advertizing in the last couple of weeks on the importance for older people to get a shingles shot, claiming that anyone who has had chicken pox is carrying the virus that could lead to a shingles outbreak. Has anyone had this shot and, if so, were there any side effects? Also, is this a one-time shot or do you need to have additional shots every year? Shingles really sounds like a very painful affliction and I certainly don't want to get it so would appreciate any pros and cons to this innoculation and thank everyone in advance for their feedback.
