I drink green tea and have been doing so for it's health benefits. Problem was that many of them taste very bitter to me.

Just picked up some Jasmine Green Tea from Trader Joe's and it's lovely! Not at all bitter, has a very pleasant aroma and delicate flavor. YAY!

So, if you are near a Trader Joe's and drink green tea, check this one out.

Thanks for the recommendation! I've also tasted one too many bitter green teas and will be sure to pick up a box of Jasmine Green Tea this coming weekend.

I hope other Jasmine Green Teas are as nice as the Trader Joe's, misbonbon!

I will be checking other brands out now that I know I like this one.

The Salada green teas are good too- the plain and the flavored ones. I don't like the lemon blend though.

To prevent bitterness:

1) Do not bring the water to full boil -- take off stove just before it comes to boil (or sooner) I just always listen to what's going on.

2) Do not steep more than 3 minutes. For leaf teas, steep for 3; for tea bags, steep for only 2.

3) Best if used in its own tea pot...in other words, do not mix teas where you make black tea one time, green tea another. I use a Yixing tea pot only for green (or white) teas. And then you never wash a Yixing tea pot. I don't usually wash any other tea pot, but I do rinse them out. I do not rinse out the Yixing.

Yes, jasmine green tea is the way to go. If you've only done Lipton green tea, you might think you dont like green tea.

I buy Mighty Leaf brand tea for hot tea and Ito En bottled for iced tea.

Thank you for the tips, Harpa! I'm going to try this with the green tea that I abandoned int he cabinet because of it's bitterness.

I will look for a Yixing tea pot. I love learning new stuff.

I have tried a number of different green teas and unfortunately didn't care for any of them enough to drink them for long.

Thanks for the recommendations!

This is one I have never tried.

There are other kinds of teas that add lemon that I don't like, though. If I'm going to use lemon, I prefer to just squeeze some into the tea.
