@cherry My Dr. believes my gastritis was brought on by aspirin, ibuprofen and antibiotics. I went to an orthopedic dr. several years ago and he said to take ibuprofen for my tailbone pain. My gastro Dr. told me that Tylenol would have been much safer on my stomach. Then I was given a couple rounds of antibiotics in February for a UTI infection. Right after is when I developed gastritis.

@Hi @LilacTree, I just mentioned gadolinium in another thread -- can't remember which one.  As @gracie2014 alluded to, you'll want to make sure your kidney can "handle" the gadolinium by having blood work done in advance. I don't know if gadolinium presents any problem for the liver, however.

I know you live in NJ and perhaps you are near a major medical center. Please check to see if they have a fast spin technology MRI. A number of years ago, my doc wanted a contrast MRI and I didn't want to risk the gadolinium, so I researched and found this technology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. They assured me it was as accurate as a contrast MRI.

With all those prescribed tests, maybe you could start with the least invasive ones like the ultrasounds, which could reveal your problem. Then you won't even have to have an MRI. ?

Also, the breath test would be for H.pylori if I'm not mistaken. That certainly could be a cause for your problems and it is treatable.

Best wishes.

@SaRina  A breath test can check for lactose intolerance and small bowel overgrowth as well.

@cherry I have been dealing with what my Dr. thought was gastritis for almost 2 months.  I had an endoscopy a week ago and it was confirmed to be that and also some type of esophagus inflammation. No H.pylori, thank goodness. I have been taking omeprazole and sucralfate. I also have a condition with my tailbone and the gastritis has made it worse, even aching down into my legs. I have lost a lot of weight and now I'm starting to get depressed. It's been difficult knowing the right foods to eat. I followed the BRAT diet ( bananas, rice, applesauce and toast ) for awhile but was losing the weight. I go back to my gastro Dr. this week so we'll see what she says. Honey has become my go to on toast or tea because I have a pretty big sweet tooth. I will never take my health for granted again!

@Lorik62  Hope you feel better soon. I'm at my wits end too. Basically pain and nausea 24/7 and I have chronic back and neck issues. I'm having to limit meds and I'm in agony. I've tried all kinds of treatments and it only gets worse!!  My gastro doc is stumped at this point what to try next. Best to you!

@LilacTree  Perhaps you have your *zoom* in at 125 or more and Goldens has hers at 100 or less.

The size of the font was a little small for the one post--than you normally use.

I normally use 2 and noticed it was coming up huge, so I started using 1. I will go back to 2 even though that is huge on my side.

@Lucky Charm

I didn't change anything on my settings on the BB.  Trying now to use my keyboard and that's not it.  It's still huge even though I geared the font size smaller.  Doesn't matter I guess.

I always thought the untouched font size was some where between 4 and 5.   I have my computer zoomed at 125.  Let me see what 2 looks like to me.....two---oh tiny!

@Reba055 I feel bad for you too. I think I could deal with the gastritis if my neck and back weren't affected. Because of my tailbone pain it makes sitting very difficult. I have a special cushion to sit on but it doesn't help much. I find the best relief with warm baths and a heating pad for a short time. I had a massage a couple weeks ago and it felt great. I am looking into acupuncture tomorrow for my tailbone pain. I am normally pretty active but this has put a huge damper on my life. It's hard for me to do simple things like getting dinner or laundry and I normally vacuum a lot. It's been very frustrating but keeping a positive attitude is helpful. Trying to figure out what to eat is such a challenge. My husband tries to get me to eat what he is eating. People just don't understand until they deal with the discomfort, so I find it helpful to talk with others who are going through the same thing. I am also taking a probiotic and recently started making my own carrot juice which is supposed to be very healing. Good luck to you and I hope you find relief soon!

How is this one?  It's big on my side.  Is it still small on yours?
