I just read a report suggesting a cup of tea everyday is good for warding off glaucoma

@cherry  Thank you-I just had the field test a few weeks ago.  My pressure has gone up but still in a normal range-just higher end.  He explained why he wanted to check for glaucoma when I had my annual exam last month.

I have to go back in June for a follow-up test.

I will ask him about tea and diet.

My DH has a mild case of glaucoma in his left eye, but cannot take any of the eye drops  , he is allergic to them!  Today his eye Dr. did a laser treatment on his eye, 130 shots of the laser!

Putting meds under a pillow may NOT be a good idea.  I also have glaucoma.  I also have allergies to many of the medications and my opthalmologist has finally settled on Zioptan and Timolol for me but they are PRESERVATIVE FREE.  They need to be kept in a cool, dark, place.  So, please check on your drops.  Under the pillow may be way too warm.

Years ago (23 years) my eye doctor noticed the pressure in both my eyes were going up. I got lazer treatments (holes) in both my eyes....walla no glaucoma. My numbers are still good.

@ID2, that is wonderful!  So are you medication free now?  Still will get monitored?  I'd love not to have to do drops every night due to the stinging for about 10 minutes afterwards.

I am currently using Zioptan and was told by the pharmacist to store the medication in the refrigerator.  So far, the drops have not lowered my pressure very much - and Zioptan was so expensive.  On to the next medication!!
