I hope your drops are helping. I have a friend who’s had good results with hers, and her glaucoma hasn’t gotten any worse for quite a while.

It’s good to see you posting.  Maybe I just haven’t seen your posts, but I’m glad you’re checking in.

I am so blessed.  My mother was legally blind from glaucoma when she died.  So was her sister and mother.  I'm blessed because knowing my family history of it, I started getting yearly exams early with an ophthalmologist.

In the year 2010, the same year that my mother died, I was diagnosed with it but I can't even tell.  It's in the very early stage.  My visual fields tests are good.  I use one drop in each eye nightly.  It burns, too.  My mother used four different drops, some twice a day, some three times a day.

But @elizabethl123, I'm surprised that you can put your drops in without being in front of a mirror.  I guess I'm clumsy, lol.

I also have Glaucoma. I just found out i have sleep apena, and going untreated for sleep apena may have caused my Glaucoma, so you may want to check that out.

I was originally diagnosed 33 years ago with primary open angle. I have used various eye drops over the years.  I currently take one drop of Brimonidine in the morning with 250 mg of Diamox. At night I take one drop of Brimonidine, one drop of Latanaprost and another 250 mg of Diamox.

I have to see my ophthalmologist every 4 months, but we have been able to maintain the pressure in each eye to about 11 so he is pretty happy.  I hate my annual visual field test the most.

When  my husband died I went about 5 years without my meds which as you all know can be expensive. During my period of neglect my left optic nerve became somewhat damaged and I have lost some of the vision in my left eye.  Now I know better.

@Wheatchick1, I'm sorry you went through such a bad time and not able to buy your meds.  Unfortunately, I think that expense is going to get worse again, insurance or not.

I take Latanaprost once in each eye every night.  And it stings!  Prior to this year, I was seeing my ophthalmologist every 3 months but starting this year it's every 6 months.  I don't remember my pressure number on my last visit but it had went down from the 14 or 15 that it normally was.
