Frenectomy question...

Just had a labial (upper lip) frenectomy Tuesday and overall it was easy and relatively painless, it was a laser procedure, with novacaine. I've done a lot of searches and don't find much info on this, but I'm just wondering if anyone has had this done and if so, how long before things feel "normal" again? I can see that the dentist did a lot of lasering very high up on my gums and this is where it's irritating. Feels like stitches almost, but it's not. Appreciate your experiences....
