This is an interesting topic to me. Whether using guided imagery or another practice, I would be interested in suggestions of what others do to meditate.
I am not wanting to be rude and change your thread @lolakimono and if I am doing so please let me know?

While I consider myself a spiritual person, just can't meditate. Prayer, yes....meditation, not so much.
My mind goes onto the next practical thing like bills to pay or laundry to do.
I admire those who are able to reach such a state.

Snowpuppy, mind wandering during meditation happens to everyone. Just say to yourself "Thinking" and get back to focussing on your breath.

I don't Meditate...but whenever i feel anxiety...or fear ...or things out of my comfort zone....I say my Rosary...and I do that three or four times of day...it calms me down ...and I can go on...

@butterfly123 The Buddha quote is soooo true! Meditation is so worthwhile. Initially meditation can seem challenging like riding a bike and learning to balance, but it's important to keep practicing. It's kind of like, daydreaming in a way. For me, learning to maintain a focus on one thing . . . like, my breathing . . . or one word repeated over and over in my mind like, the word peace or love. ![]()

For me I usually wake up around 5 am. I go out side on my back deck, a sit in my Bliss reclining chair and listen to all the sounds I can hear with my eyes closed. Then I watch the sun come up and I'm ready for my day. I don't know if this is mediation or not but I need this little quiet time to myself.

I don't think I've ever tried meditating.
I do put good music on and lose myself in dance daily. For real, I almost black out and don't remember it. And, I am not drinking or taking medication beforehand.
Is that kind of like meditating or do you have to sit calmly in one spot. I can't do that.
