You can have coffee after the 30 min. I was told to wait one hour before eating after taking the pill. I also have started taking it when I wake up during the night (like 3:30 AM - I consistently wake up at that time to go to the bathroom) and then by the time I wake up I can eat right away. You can take your pill after the time has passed.

I take my Levoxyl along with my first dose of Cytomel at about 3:00 am. I use an empty gel capsule and put the thyroid meds along with my first steroids of the day inside this capsule. This way I can take my vits, other supplements 4 hrs. later when I am up for the day. Also no worry that a food will affect the Levoxyl's absorption. I set an alarm. This is easier as I take Cytomel every 8hrs. through the day...I finish at 7:30 pm.

Thanks so much for the info, I was really confused. I am glad I can have a cup of coffee after the 30 minutes that's my wake up call every morning and I think like you I will wait an hour before I eat.
