I bought the Fitbit to get me motivated to move more. It's working. LOL!!! I already exercise but need to move more.

Why does someone need something like this to make them do something?

Anyways I wanted to check my HR & Sleep patterns. I have only wore it to bed twice so only have 2 nights to go by so far. My REM sleep was short & only once. Online it says it happens throughout the night. This is when you dream. DH always asks me what I dreamed & I always say nothing. If I'm not having REM sleep during the night seems to reason why I have no dreams. LOL!!! Guess I will wear this & see what happens.

My resting pulse rate is also lower then I thought it would be.

Mine says my REM sleep is probably only once or twice a night. I figure it's probably fairly accurate because my sleep is terrible. I do occasionally remember my dreams though. Mostly because my dreams are exhausting!

@pigletsmom That's how DH's dream was last night. He was being chased all night. I don't remember any dreams. I did not sleep good last night. The majority of mine last night shows light sleep. I tossed & turned from 4 am when I got up to use the restroom until I got up at 8.

I don't really like wearing the fitbit while I sleep because it keeps lighting up when I move. The light will keep me from getting a good nights sleep.

@Azcowgirl Hi, I also got mine for Christmas. Now that I have been using it DH wants want so he can see what he's doing. He's not using mine because I have it on now all day except when I shower. I guess I could buy him one for his birthday. I better hurry since it's the 10th.

Enjoy your Fitibt.

Off to walk some more.

@Nightowlz Do you have your fitbit set to show you the time when you lift your wrist? Maybe that's why it's lighting up. Mine doesn't do that but I turned that function off in my settings. I wear mine of the left arm too so that might keep it from accidently lighting up. I think if it were on the rioght wrist you might hit the button occasionally if you were bending your wrist.

Or is it the heart rate light? I wear mine fairly tight so that's never bothered me.

@pigletsmom I have mine set up horizontal with the Time/HR displayed first. I can take that off tonight & see what happens.

I wear mine on my left wrist. It does show time/hr when I lift my wrist. I will check it out tonight. Thanks.

I've worn a FitBit Alta HR since late March 2017. I got it primarily to check my HR as I have an issue. It is a great motivator so I have really gotten into all the functions. I love the sleep charts and comparisons. I'm a light sleeper which I knew but will have nights of very little REM sleep and some nights with average. I just think it is interesting.

@Nightowlz You stop it from showing the time when you lift your wrist in your settings under quick view. Then you just have to hit the button to see the time when you want to. Or tap the screen depending on which Fitbit you have.

I think I turned mine off when I had my original Charge HR. I was trying to save battery because I had to charge it every other day. Turned out I had a bad unit and they just sent me a new one but I got used to having it off at that point.

@KonaKat I burst out laughing the first time I looked at my sleep chart. It's just crazy colors all over because my sleep is such a mess. I wasn't surprised since one cat gave up on sleeping with me years ago and the other one gets shot off the bed all the time because he sleeps too close to me. Smiley LOL
