Re: February Exercise Thread

Hi, all!!! Is it Friday yet?!?! Waaaaaaa!!! Lol! Well, Monday it wasn't feeling hot, so I just did the bike at home. Tuesday was crazy. Work-wise, then I got home to hubby with a stomach virus and very, very ill. I'll spare you the details, but I cloroxed the house (twice!), did a few loads of laundry, changed the sheets, took him to the doc, picked up scripts, got him settled......and probably did a load of laundry and more sanitizing in there somewhere. All after a 9 hr crazy work day. I was NOT going to get it. Poor thing was soooooo sick. And the urgent care took forever, I thought I was going to lose my mind. Like, straight jacket, people. Anyway, I somehow managed to hurt my back in all this, because yesterday it was killing me AND I was just completely exhausted. I'm used to going, going, going, so I really wonder if I was coming down with something and was fighting it off. Anyway, a dump of snow here today, which always makes for a wild workday. My back feels better, though. I'm going to hop on the bike for a bit and do some weights, too. I'll be lucky if I can curl 3 lbs by now. The temps have ranged from -15 wind chill to 50 degrees in the past week, so everyone's allergies are just killing them -- mine included. And the next 10 days will be the same. I'm just a cup half full today, aren't i? (Insert googly eyed emoticon here!) Lol!! Ok, I need yo get moving. I hope you all have a good day tmrw!!! Thanks for letting me vent. Re: February Exercise Thread

Future, I hope things look better soon and that yur and DH recover quickly. Here, very cold, long work hours, and life still getting in the way of workouts. Ugh. But counting my blessings and trying to recognize it's all ok.

FUTURE...AACCCKK!! I hope your dh feels better quickly and will pray you don't come down with it! I'm a big Clorox fan also, my friends and family tease me over my OCD cleaning...lol.

I feel like I'm in a Petri dish at the gym and it can freak me out if I let it...I have to ledditgo.{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

nomless, I'm sorry you're having a bit of a low. You're sure a blessing to us here!!

Lucy and I did the 7 mile hill route yesterday. Gym today...ugh! I'm still sore!{#emotions_dlg.scared}

Re: February Exercise Thread

Okay, I had to come back and do some bragging today...on my friend at the gym! She was there today and she ran almost 3 miles!!!! She has never ran in her life except in grade school...lol.

After a few rounds, I told her if she feels it's too much, to walk the next couple of sets and Miss Sassy Pants wasn't having any of that...lol...she ran them all!

I told the personal trainer and she made a big announcement and everyone cheered and clapped...I'm sure she wanted to choke me! LOL!!!

But she told me at the end that it was the best work-out she's ever had and she feels really pumped! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

And it's not like we just got on there and ran, we were getting off and doing squat-jumps, rowing, push-ups, pull-ups, etc...so it was tough.

It was a great work-out today! Lots of fun and the hour went by quickly...I didn't go quite as all-out as I have been because I tried to stay with her as much as I could and I was watching her heart-rate more than mine. But I can tell I'm feeling stronger again.

Re: February Exercise Thread

Hi All! Patty- I had to laugh at your posting about DH and Lucy falling. you were ready to bring her to the ER but did not mention anything about your DH's condition! Nomless- too bad about your order. I looked it up on BB whenI saw you guys mentioni it, but didn't find any info. Bopper- how is the cold? I am so looking forward to Daytona. I can't wait to see Tony Stewart, so missed him. Future- I hope you and DH are well. Judy- how exciting to plan and look forward to the trip! I did get to work OK on Wednesday. t was supposed to start by 5 am and come down hard. I got up early and say flakes at 4:45- so got going. It did come down harder as I drove, but I was early enough so missed the bad roads and traffic. So I was an hour early for work, oh well. I continue to do Jillian and LS. I would like to get out walking - the sun is so deceiving but the negative windchills are not! At least it's February and getting close to spring- does that work for you? Gotta work the weekend so no workouts - Have a great weekend, everybody!

Patty, I enjoyed reading about your friend's success. She did great. Hi, Tony, you're not alone in the cold. I'm tired of it too.

Re: February Exercise Thread

tony, I was talking to my gf on the phone when I read your post and almost spit my coffee out. What's really funny about this is, my husband got yelled at for falling, I was so mad. I have a tendency to yell when people fall and get hurt. But not with Lucy...haha.

Yes, nomless, she was so stoked. You could just see a new sparkle in her eye and spring in her step. I hope you get to enjoy your weekend.

Holy cow, did you guys see Northern Italy...talk about some snow! When they're digging HOUSES out...now that's some snow! Pictures were beautiful to look at though.

Guess we'll be heading out on foot today. I can't do any weights or anything hard-core today, a good power-walk or easy run is in the forecast. They say we're supposed to get some more snow today, I'm sure it won't amount to much. My gf got another foot of snow yesterday and it's still snowing this morning, they've been hammered with both cold and snow...like many places have been...lol.

Canine...were are you?!

Oh, nomless, I woke up from a bad dream last night and then started to have an anxiety attack about getting Lucy spayed..good grief! I'm getting on my own nerves.

We're going up to PA next weekend and the kids said they're coming down the weekend of the 28th. I think it's hitting them that we're moving farther away again. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Re: February Exercise Thread

Patty, I'm sorry you're agonizng about Lucy. It wiil be harder on you than on her. I just made Marlene Koch's orange chicken with two changes: I used the juice of an orange instead of packagec orange juice, and I omitted the one-half cup splenda. Yikes. I didn't add sugar. IMO, the orange juice makes it sweet enough. It is really good, definitely will make again. You can find the recipe on the 'net if you don't have the book..

Re: February Exercise Thread

Hey all,

Today I did 3 miles running on the treadmill..only a few times I had to walk. Most of it was running(jogging)

Sunny and blue skies today but on the cold side again.

Watching USA vs Finland in women's hockey now. Being the game isn't live I have to turn away and block my ears so the announcers don't say the score. Right before the game the announcer was giving the score.... ( like really) we would like to watch it first.

nomless I wonder if that recipe is in my Splenda cookbook. I will have to look. Glad you liked it and omitted the splenda all together.

Pppmint hope you sleep better tonight....next weekend you can visit with the kids.

Ok back to the game!
