Had a new experience yesterday!

Went w/DD to a place called "True Rest" which is a FLOAT experience!

Left the lid of the pod open.

The magnesium chloride is dense because they use such a high concentration so it allows you to float in 11" of water.

The single person shower/pod room allows one to shower before and after

As I floated, I began to notice various areas of my body that were stiff or painful

Benefits I'm noticing: almost like a trip to the chiropractor, I'm noticing an elongated spine; healing rashes; whiter fingernail tips; opened up sinuses and ears.

There is an issue with one of my hips...after the float I noticed it more. Today it seems as if it is gone.

As I floated, I noticed a stiff neck...today my neck seems less stiff and more movable.

@LTT1 Thank you for explaining how it works. There is a flotation spa close to my house. I wondered about it, but I pictured something different. I am glad it helped you.

I have never heard of this.  It sounds very interesting.

I remember learning when I was a kid that the Dead Sea is so full of magnesium that you would float even if you couldn't swim.

I always wanted to " test it out."   The whole area where this lake is located is supposed to be healing and therapeutic.

I am happy you enjoyed your experience.  Maybe something like that will open up in my area.  I'd like to give it a try.

Thanks for sharing.

@LTT1 ,

I don't understand the difference or benefit of that vs just going to an indoor pool and floating? Is it because you don't need to know how to float in a pool? I know it is a wonderful experience to be floating and relieves so many aches and pains.

Maybe this is for people that don't live near an indoor pool or are reluctant to get in the deeper water? Ot just more convenient or something?

@on the bay

I would imagine floating in a pool would have many of the same benefits.

The FLOAT experience requires A LOT of magnesium chloride. My guess is that hot springs-type of visits provide this type of benefit...

arthritis pain reduction, skin clearing and healing..my stiff and aches places are better today and so are my sinuses (headaches, etc).

Inwill let you know more when I find out more, but pain alleviation is one of the benefits.

I would bet that that amount of MgCl would corrode the finish off regular porcelain bathtubs.

I've never heard of this before. Is this like a salt bath or something?

@LTT1 That sounds really interesting to me. I hope it will be beneficial to you. None in my area though.

@Estellee

While looking it up, trying to find out if we had others in our area, I did find one or two under the search "Float Therapy".

Just in case you might have wanted to look.

I wonder would it work for someone, like me, that sinks like a lead balloon to the bottom of the pool?
