Extensive dentist visit

I am so very pleased about this‼️

I needed four crowns‼️ The enamel tooth part in these four was nearly gone!

The dentist worked on the uppers for two full hours...I now have beautiful front teeth and I’m only on temporaries right now!

My next visit will be installing the crowns!

oh I relate to this. My front teeth, actually the front four, had discolored badly with age, and had gotten very crooked. I had become so embarrassed to smile or show my teeth at all. This was new and horrifying to me. One of them had to be extracted due to decay high into the gum that couldn't be repaired. Well this necessitated a four teeth bridge.

Oh my goodness! Beautiful perfectly straight teeth in a color shade that closely matched the others. Also he corrected my bite, so my teeth sit differently but look more normal.

For a few months it felt weird, like I had someone else's teeth in my mouth. Haha 😬

But I got used to the new bite and I love my new improved smile.

You mentioned two hours in the chair-yep. Several appts for me, one was three hours, I didnt mind as I had lidocaine and gas.

As we know this stuff costs a flipping fortune but thats why they make credit cards lol

I'd like to get all the major dental stuff out of the way by a year from now as DH will be retiring next year. I'm currently on my second try for an implant on a lower molar (I already have one on the top front that's a couple of years old and several top front crowns from several years ago). The first try on the molar, it didn't heel well and the implant wouldn't integrate with the bone graft. The dentist did some revision to the tissue, went back to square one with the grafting material. I'm currently in the waiting period for the graft to integrate with the bone and harden. I won't be done completely until around Thanksgiving or so. So yeah, I know all too well about spending lots of hours in the dental chair myself. Fortunately I love my dentist and his staff, from the receptionist to the dental techs, and him, of course. DH and I will be back in a couple of weeks for our hygienist appointments.

How about all day.....

On my day off, I went to my long time dentist to have a front tooth checked. It was a crown and it needed to be removed for some repair work on the stub. Fully numbed, I heard a crack ! The stub had broken off at the gum line. He called his best friend, an endodontist on the Main Line, and I drove to his office where he smoothed the stub out and placed a pin in it. I drove back to my dentist and had the temporary made and placed.

Truly an exhausting and long day, but I had a temporary that matched my other front teeth ! Still numb, I finally drove home.

i was just at dentist and the one girl told me i may need a crown. the dentist came in looked and said no i was ok... i have dental insurance but its still expensive even with it..
