@ID2 wrote:Express Scripts is a mail order pharmacy. Not a card.
So the card in my wallet with my husbands name, group and id number is a figment of my imagination?

This is really funny to me. I was looking at my USPS Informed Delivery online that shows the pieces of mail I will receive today. One is from Express Scripts. I do get mail once a month showing the drugs I have purchased each month. Apparently I can get them through Express Scripts if I want to. I used CVS this year, but next year I will use Kroger as CVS will no longer be an approved pharmacy. I don't like mail order pharmacies. My insurance is through Blue Cross.

I too have a card with my name and etc on it. Will be used 1/1/!8. I had them once before and in renewing a script, they told me they no longer were in company with my insurance . Which made me have to go to my Dr. and get all new scripts. This new I am getting I have to pay so much a month to them, but my local drug store will take care of it..
I will be watching very closely what kind of service I get. Thank you all for expressing your views.

I have mailed in scripts to them in years past and 2 of DH's doctors electronically transmit scripts to them, all without issue. However, they are not done a year at a time. Under his insurance, he can get a 90 day supply with 3 refills. After that, new scripts have to be sent in again.
UMMM.......A 90 day supply with 3 more refills is a year's supply.

We used to use Express Scripts (who were Medco before a merge) and my only issue was that on two occasions they billed us twice for a single prescription. When that mistake was pointed out, in each case they advised it would take ninety days to get it rectified. These were expensive prescriptions ($200+) and I worked my way up the chain of command until I could find someone who would return the overpayment immediately. I did not like them taking the money out twice for a single prescription. If you use them, keep an eye on their billing. It could end up saving you a lot of money.

My husband had Express Scripts for several years and then started having problems getting his refills sent to him. He ended up five days without some heart med that was dangerous for him not to have. He goes to a local pharmacy now; the cost I see just a few dollars more but well worth it to know you don't have to worry about when or if your med will arrive.
@lovesrecess, did you try calling your doctor?
One time my DH didn't keep track of his pills very well and had no re-fills left on a pill it was imperative he take daily. I called the office and they sent the script electronically right away and electronically sent in a 30 day supply to our local pharmacy so he would have something to take until he rec'd his refill in the mail.

I have used Express Scripts for years. I can't praise them enough for the service I've gotten and have never had any kind of problem with them. The customer service is extraordinary.
If I have no refills left, they will automatically call the doctor for refills. I don't do a thing.
Over the years I've only had one incident where I received the wrong medication. Once mailed, even though meds not opened, cannot be returned.
This AM I just had a call from them, explaining how to facilitate a problem at no expense to me.
On a scale of 1-10, I give Express Scripts l00 !
