@Jacie,

I think you have that correct!!! lOL Old phrase of "move it or lose it" really applies to the body.

Re: Exercises and Supplements for Arthritis Question

I have to add +1 for water aerobics.  I discovered that as an option for sciatica and enjoy it so much.

If you can find a gym with deep water aerobics, that is even better as you wear a belt and float on the surface, so you never touch the ground.  You do all of the exercises while floating.  Zero impact.

Re: Exercises and Supplements for Arthritis Question

Thanks, everyone, for all the good advice.  I've ordered some of the Lessman Joint Formula and am looking into the Tapp exercises, too.  We have a pool; so, I'll be getting in and doing some water exercise for the next few months while the water is a comfortable temperature.  Unfortunately, when my knees started bothering me more, I stopped exercising as much.  I was doing the treadmill several times a week but my doctor advise me that was hard on the knees.

MuttMom-Hope the Synvisc works well for you.  Sound to me like you have the one that's a series of injections.  My doctor prefers the Synvisc One, which is just one injection.  So far, that has been pretty successful for me.  It does take a little while to work to its fullest potential, but the first time I had it, it lasted for a little over six months.  I'm on the second round which is now over six months and it's still working well.

@patticakes

Thank you for your response.  I had 3 injections over 3 weeks with something called OrthoVisc.  My doctor said it could be up to 6 weeks before I know whether or not they've helped.  If they do, then I can have a booster shot every 6 months.

I was confused because initially we discussed Synvisc One.  This injection does not contain chicken combs.
