You would have to have her money and her cosmetic surgeons! Plus she seems to be blessed with perfect health, so she can probably exercise to keep her body in shape. She's a beautiful woman, no doubt.

As someone well beyond OP's age - I say there may be more than one kind of elderly. There's medical elderly and then there's social elderly and there's emotional elderly. Are there others I haven't thought of? Undoubtedly. That, too, is part of being on the verge of elderly here!

As to OP's doctor- that episode reminded me of a story told often by a very good friend. When she was PG with her fourth child at 35, her obstetrician considered her an "elderly pregnancy." At least that's how he described her to his nurse as he did his examination.

Makes me think doctors have to think of us patients in ways we ourselves might never imagine.

I'm an RN and when I went to nursing school, 35 was considered an "elderly Gravida" because it was believed that pregnancy in that age group was considered risky. I agree with you about people being emotionally and/or medically elderly

I'm an RN, too. Now its called AMA ....advanced maternal age.

Also, anyone 65 or over is considered "risk to fall" because of being older.

I am 43 and I'm always saying "I'm not old, I'm still young" and I get that look from people like "are you sure about that". When I was 32 my sister (who is 6 yrs older) told me that I was not young anymore...can you believe that?!?!

I think I'm Madonna's age. How is she looking these days, because I might be able to delude myself too?

I am 64 and I feel younger then I am, I think it all depends how you feel, you cant keep the clock from ticking, my son thinks I am old he is always telling me to go get a senior pass, so if I do take the subway i will only have to pay half, but they say 65 is the new 45, and look at the new school chancellor in New York she is 70 years young, so times have changed

So if 65 is the new 45, is 95 the new 75? And to me 35 isn't "young" it isn't "Old" but I wouldn't say you are "young" either. Now days people want to go immediately from "young" to "ancient" with no middle ground.

My goodness! All you need do is look at a picture of yourself when you were 30 and look at a picture of yourself now. Surprise!!{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Be grateful for all those years in between and enjoy, really enjoy, the years you have ahead. Why worry about how people may refer to your age.

Just remember that today is the oldest you have ever been and the youngest you will ever be.

I wouldn't say 64 is "elderly," but to say it's "middle-aged" would mean that you're expecting to live to be 128.

I'm 35...and I guess that I am, realistically, almost "middle-aged." {#emotions_dlg.mellow}

My eldest sister sat a college entrance exam and retrained for an entirely new career when she was 61. There's a huge amount of outdoor physical labor involved too, it's not just intellectual work.

I can't imagine thinking of that as "elderly".
