I hate the idea of using petroleum products, but I may do that.

Not on the patch I have on my scalp though.  Can you imagine what a grease-ball I would look like?  heh  Maybe it would be okay if I used a q-tip to apply.

Hi @mistriTsquirrel,

It can just be trial and error to find out what works on your skin.

I get it on my hands and fingers besides other areas of my body, and I have been using a rich body cream with coconut oil in it that I got at Sam's Club and I find that it is helping my skin.

I also think that products like Vaseline can be helpful, too.

I used to see an Allergist, and he used to recommend unscented and moisturizing products for the skin--nothing that would irritate it.

My skin flares up monthly like clock work, every time my cycle comes. Then it clears up again, so it's hormone-related for me, and my Allergist verified that for me.

@Toppers3

I tend to get pimples before my period...not the deep cystic acne I used to get all the time, but still acne.  What a pain in the butt!!  I used to have nice skin, years ago.  ::sigh::

I wonder if they would have your cream at Wal-Mart.

Hello my dear @mistriTsquirrel,

I haven't seen it there in the store, but it's possible that they have it there and I have missed seeing it and I just haven't seen it there.

I have seen it online at Wal-Mart and elsewhere.

It's the NatureWell brand and it comes in a really large jar. It's not exclusive to Sam's.

It's 16 oz. and its called Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Moisturizing Cream. It's the least expensive at Sam's though, from what I could tell.

I was trying to read the list of ingredients on the jar because I had difficulty finding them online. When I went to look online at their website, it kept referring me back to Sam's for their products.

Anyway, it contains Macadamia nut oil and Grape seed oil and Mineral oil in the ingredient list in case you have any problems or allergies with any of those ingredients. Mineral oil is down towards the bottom of the list, and Coconut oil is the second ingredient on the list, after water.

I'm really enjoying it. To me, it's just such a nice cream without being heavy or greasy. A small dab goes a long way. It has a pleasant smell to it, too. It smells really nice, if you like the smell of coconuts. Smiley Happy

Thank you, @Toppers3!!  I will have to look for it.

I do enjoy the scent of coconuts/coconut oil.  It sounds like it could be a winner!  Smiley Happy

@lolakimono

Kind of a jumble of things.  I'm not brand-loyal.

Lately I've been using some Giovanni shampoo or Selson Blue (with the salicylic acid in it),   Then to condition I've been using either Alba conditioner or Suave.

I've been using up a tube of Alba leave-in conditioner as well.  Then I can go back to my Giovanni olive oil and avocado leave-in.

I guess I never figured it was my hair care products, because I change them up so much and the problem remains.

Have you tried baking soda and ACV?

@lolakimono

Yeah, I tried that for awhile.  Your scalp's oil production is supposed to balance out after awhile of doing that, but I couldn't make it through the "greasy" stage.  It was just too gross.  My head didn't feel clean.

I do know that vitamin E helps with that.  Also Vitamin B6 also helps.

Since both Eczema & Psoriasis are Autoimmune Diseases, you need to see a Dermatologist.  Taking supplements, drinking more water which might be helpful for other conditions will do nothing for these two & might wreak havoc with your already compromised immune system. I doctored for a rash for over a year.  I still don't know what it is.  No one drinks more water then I do, and it does nothing.  I use a prescription steroid cream.I would consult a Dermatologist like others have said.  I spent over 500.00 out of pocket for my Dr. to tell me I am unlucky???  I thought really?  No, you are the unlucky one as you have just lost a patient.  You might try Lysine. I have read that it helps some types of rashes.  I can't say it helped mine , but worth a try.

@Annabellethecat66  Thank you.

I need to get back on the B-Complex vitamins.  I don't know why I stopped taking them, I just got out of the habit, I guess.  They're sitting on the kitchen counter!!

I have to be careful about taking too much B-6 or E because they thin your blood, and I'm already on a med that does that.

I was looking at the NEA link, and it says:   "You can help calm specific symptoms of eczema by adding bleach, vinegar, salt, oatmeal or baking soda to your bath water."  Bleach???  That's something I don't think I'll be trying.  Yikes.  Maybe if my elbow gets really bad, I could try just putting my elbow in a bowl of bleach water, but "no" to the whole-body bleach bath.  LoL

Edited to add:  I hope nobody tries to add all of those things into a bath at once.  Can you imagine the toxic volcano bath that would result??  LoL
