Re: EMPLOYER REQUIREMENT FOR EMPLOYEES TO BE VACINNATED

It would be nice if points could be made without name calling. I was waiting for that. This is why I generally have stayed out of these conversations.

@Teddie  Lol. Just my opinion but it will never happen. I try not to read these threads but do take a peek here and there then I just get annoyed.

@proudlyfromNJ  That’s exactly how I feel, too. I’m fine with people expressing how they feel and why. But I get so tired of the multiple posts with so much name calling. I once counted close to 15 negative name calls in one post. Someone was really wound up and kept repeating themselves. Just unnecessary.

This astounds me....your rights are being impinged on?? what about the general public?  what about parents with children with CP? Or folks getting chemo?  you dont just impact yourself.....how could you ive with yourself if you had the opportunity to vaccinate, didnt, and infected someone who then sufferred a catastrophic illness?

America...self indulgent and selfish...

@ProudMa Yes your rights could be impinged upon!!  Just because the "experts" can claim that the vaccine is safe it may not be safe for everyone.

There have been people who have been seriously injured from a vaccine....and I'm not talking about a sore arm or a fever for a few days.  People have gotten guillain-barré  syndrome from a flu vaccine.  It's very rare.... until it happens to you or a loved one.

Being forced to take a medicine (ever see pharma commercials on TV?...they all list side effects some which are serious.) is not the American way....it will no longer be the land of the free if that's what you want....to be forced to be injected with some toxic substances all for the "greater good".

Re: EMPLOYER REQUIREMENT FOR EMPLOYEES TO BE VACINNATED

This isn't a new issue.  We hear about employers every year requiring flu shots, often in medical institutions, and employees objecting to getting them.  I say they ought to consider a different line of work if they're willing to put their patients at risk.

@tends2dogs

Until a lot more is learned about this topic, nothing concerning it should be required.

Re: EMPLOYER REQUIREMENT FOR EMPLOYEES TO BE VACINNATED

In my family my husband, our daughter, our oldest son and our youngest son's girlfriend all work in hospitals. They are required every year to get a flu shot. So far, none of them have said anything about getting a covid-19 vaccine. I think once we have a safe and viable vaccine, they'll probably have to get that too. I don't think at this point either of their employers would force them to get an unproven vaccine.

There are employees at certain places that are required to get a flu shot so I'm guessing those same employees would be required to get a Covid vaccine.  I'm talking about nursing home and hospital employees, etc.

The hospital where I worked before retirement required all employees to get a flu shot. Those who refused had two choices, either wear a mask all of the time or get a job elsewhere. This was to protect the patients, and I think it was fair.

Re: EMPLOYER REQUIREMENT FOR EMPLOYEES TO BE VACINNATED

You are right on, @haddon9 . My husband had a terminal but treatable cancer, however, they strongly believed it was one of his medications which caused him to develop a second cancer, which is what ultimately killed him. Those side affects need to be taken VERY seriously, no matter how fast they say the words or how tiny the fine print in the commercials. They don't have a clue what this vaccine could do to people in the long run. To be forced to take it is wrong on all counts. It has nothing to do with being selfish because what good is it if we all kill ourselves trying to save everyone else?
