My mouth is so dry sometimes I think I will start choking. I have tried a few different products which I did not like.
The dentist told me to use Act lozenges which seem to taste ok but after taking one my mouth was not dry but eventually I had a nasty after taste in my mouth. Not long after that I felt like I had bad breath all day so I'm not using those.
I bought some Spry spearmint gum which worked for me. Did not notice a nasty after taste like I did with other products. I will use this for a while to see how it goes.
If anyone else is looking for something for dry mouth you might want to try it.
I'm going to see what other products they have to try.

Are you taking medications causing dry mouth?
IMO trying to cover/fix dry mouth is not fixing the original issue...
and dry mouth can cause serious dental issues.

No. All I take is NP thyroid. I have dry eyes, dry mouth & dry nose. It's a real pain in the rear.
I don't understand why if I have dry mouth it's so dry but with my dry nose & dry eyes they are running all the time. Guess I should be happy I don't have slobber running out of my mouth. LOL!!!
I did find this online. Among the many effects of thyroid disease is a diminished production and release of saliva from the salivary glands, which results in a dry mouth.
They also list foods that can cause it. Salt it one of them. I have been eating a lot of peaches with salt on them.
Guess it has more to do with being hypothyroid plus foods I eat.

A friend of mine who is a dental assistant swears by Biotine spray. They also make other products.

Try the Biotene products. They have a mouth rinse that's good.

I also have a low thyroid problem and have dry mouth that mostly bothers me when I am sleeping. I've tried everything and the only thing that works for me is Act gum. Lately it's hard to find but I found it on Amazon. I don't use anything unless it's sugarfree during the night. I like Act lemon honey lozenges better than the mint. The gum only comes in mint and it pretty good.

TheraBreath works for some people, either the oral rinse or lozenges.

If you have dry eyes as well as a dry mouth, you may want to visit a doctor and ask to be evaluated for Sjogren's syndrome. My mom has Sjogren's and it's not fun. And if it turns out you don't have it, the doctor may still have some ideas that will help you with your symptoms.

My dentist had me try a free pack of products made by Biotene. They didn’t work for me. Dry mouth is a side effect of many medicines. My mouth stopped being so dry but thanks for the suggestion, Nightowlz.

I don't think I have that from the symptoms listed. My older sister does have this. Beside being hypothyroid she also has RA.
