Two weeks ago out of the blue I developed double vision. Saw reg opth/dr. he did tests and referred me to a neuro/opth. She did more tests (field/cornea thickness, pressure) said could be tumor or stroke, and scheduled a mri. Meantime gave me a temporary strip of material that acted as a prism to put on the right lens of my glasses.
Scared out of my mind until I got the results (4 days including weekend).
Well, the good news is no tumor or stroke. Seems I have 4th nerve palsy. Common with aging (what else is new) and will see her in 2 weeks for a new pair of glasses with a prism.
Surgery is not an option since my "distortion" is not significant enough...no contact lenses are made with prisms.
Haven't worn glasses since I had cataract surgery 4 years ago and am not thrilled with going back, but it's a small inconvenience compared to the affects of the double vision.
Has anyone had this condition? Anyone wearing classes with a prism?
