My old gyn never ordered anything for me except a yearly mammo and pap test. I was talking to a friend--she said hers orders bone density, ultrasound with bloodwork yearly..I have a strong history of gyn cancers in my family so I would ask for the ultrasounds on my own, but it was never suggested, even after I made it clear about my mom/sister/aunts/grandma and their cancers. ..I need to get a new gyn this soon and I am wondering if my gyn had been kinda slacking all these years! Would your gyn have picked up on this stuff without you telling him/her what test you wanted???
