Does anyone here use turmeric?

I have painful arthritis in my hands and am opposed to strong meds dr. wants me to take----too many side effects. I have two friends who take turmeric. They say it works wonders. Has anyone here used it or is using it?

I've read about it, but would like some comments from people who have experienced it, if possible.

Thanks so much.

I have used it and didn't notice any relief.

One that I think did help was hyularonic acid (in capsules).

I just took it for awhile like as needed, not all the time.

I take Andrew Lessman's (HSN) Turmeric 400 Curcumin.  I take one capsule in the morning with breakfast and one at night with supper.  I feel that it works very well.  I have arthritis in my hands and back and have lots of pain all the time.  The Turmeric has helped tremendously.

My husband's orthopedic surgeon recommended it for him because of hip pain/bursitis.  He hasn't tried it yet.

First and foremost always speak with your primary care physician.

Last year chose plant based lifestyle removing all animal products and sugar salt chemicals gluton processed foods including GMO's.

Within short time inflammation and pain completely healed. Lost over sixty pounds. Power of plant based foods along with exercise life changing. There is wealth of information on this topic.

@teainlondon  You might want to try a shot of Noni juice daily.  I had painful arthritis in my hands and fingers and after taking for several months there was no more pain.  I met a 90 year old woman years ago that was so active who told me she takes a shot of Noni juice daily and has no arthritis pain or stiffness.  I took it for years and still have no finger pain.  I am going to start again though for other arthritis issues.

The curcumin type of turmeric has been helpful to me.

It is not a panacea, nothing is. I also use tart cherry,

hydraluric acld, and unfortunately naproxen. The turmeric is available at Amazon, specifically the Quercin turmeric.

My husband and I both take turmeric for several health benefits it provides.  We also take Marine Collagen (types I & III) and Undenatured Collagen Type II which is good for our skin and joints.

Keep in mind that when taking turmeric, the recommended amount is far higher than just sprinkling something from your spice rack over your food or adding a teaspoon or two into your meatloaf mixture.  A person needs to consume 1200-1800 mg. daily and consistently to realize any benefit.  Taking too much turmeric at one time will cause some tummy issues so it's best to divide that amount into 2-3 servings.  Make sure you take it with food and chase it with a full glass of water.  The capsules we take are 900 mg. so we take one with breakfast and one with dinner.  Also, when shopping for your capsules make sure to get the kind with black pepper (Bio Perine) in it as the black pepper aids in the absorption.

If you decide to consider collagen supplements, be advised that collagen types I & III (usually a combined supplement) and type II need to be taken at separate times and both need to be taken on an empty stomach.  For your marine collagen types I & III, I recommend NeoCell Marine Collagen.  The best price I've found is on Amazon.
