on the local news friday a reporter said she has been buying zicam swabs and swabs her nose before going out and about. she is a germaphobe too ( like me ) and is worried about the virus so she does this.
my grandma used to always put some vicks in her nose before she went out. she did it until she died about 10 years ago.
no idea if any of this would help at all against coronavirus!! would not hurt to try anything!

I use them when I plan on being in a tightly crowded space, usually someplace indoors. Been doing it for years. I'm not going to stop using them now. Who knows, maybe they will help from getting COVID 19. FYI...the Zicam swabs don't contain any zinc like they use to.
ETA - I also pop a zinc lozenge in my mouth while I'm out in a crowd, too. Can't hurt, better safe than sorry.

@CherryHugs Porbably not but it couldn't hurt. I've never heard of them but I do get allergies and it might help with that.

No, it doesn't work but if makes you feel better, there's no harm in it.

I take Airborne and Kate Naturals Elderberry gummies (has Zinc) from the big A.
I usually take when I've been in public or go to the office (I usually work at home)

How does anyone know that for sure?? At this point nothing has been scientifically proven to work or not and it's still in the infancy of lab research. so for now I'm taking every reasonable precaution made available to me right now....why not?

Are you kidding me? Science, folks..... It is a good thing. Please dont rely on random stories and Facebook, etc. for your health information. Surely everyone knows better, right? I would laugh, but it is not funny.

I know it works with colds and regular flu. Before doing this when I was around someone at work and my SO I always got a cold or flu but haven't had even a cold in 15 years. Two doctors recommended either zinc lozenges or the nasal swabs,

I love Zicam, but I never thought to use them as a preventative. Thanks for the tip!
