So everyone urged me, did you get your shingles shot yet?  No, I said but then I said I will.

Well, I did and then I got Part 2

Then I got shingles 3 days after the 2nd shot

Did you know this is more common that they let on.   Oh fun.

Aveeno Bath Treatment - Shingles or not where was this all my life, it makes your skin so soft - All 100% natural

Also, not a health food store nut of any kind but there is a salve made by

Country Comfot called Herbal Savvy Golden Seal - Myrrh

Wonderful stuff, stops the itch within 2-3 minutes

Great healing properties for other things too.  They have a website and expaned their line for baby products too.  Wish I knew about these people a year ago when I went to a baby shower, products like this far outweigh a Target/Walmart/Amazon retailer gift.

So.................in summary               IT HAPPENS

Re: Do You Know - Shingles

Too many foreign things injected into your body is not a good idea.  Does more harm than good.

@Mistreatedbycs - I'm so sorry, and I hope you feel better. My mom and my uncle both had a rough time with shingles. My uncle had it around his waist. My mom had it on her forehead. Her doctor told her to use Vitamin E cream. It soothed her some and it did help diminish the scar after. She used it every day and night.

After that if anyone she knew had a scar she would get them a container of it. You could try it out and see what you think. Smiley Happy

@Mistreatedbycs

Shingles are NO fun, sorry.

Just BTW - if one has had Chicken Pox, and therefore carries the Herpes Zoster Virus, Vaccines, and other prescription medication can cause it to become active as inflamed nerves - Shingles.  High level stress can also activate it.

Get a prescription for Valtrex.  It worked almost immediately for me.

L-lysine (a supplement) greatly reduces the rash.   Google for info.

How awful.  Just what you would least expect.  I got my shots earlier this year and was sick with flu-like symptoms for a day after.

I had a "full vest" of shingles in 2019 - back of neck, back, chest, abdomen.  I had just broken out with the rash and didn't know what it was, when my dog got loose, and bit me when I grabbed him (I was afraid he'd go running after a cat and get hit by a car).  Then it snowed for three days so getting to the doctor was impossible, then my next door neighbor died.

I was paranoid when I did get in to see the doc (by then, of course, it was too late for any prescription remedy), that she would see the dog bites and call authorities.  I bandaged them up, but still.

Those shingles scars took months to heal and the pain and misery was pretty intense for awhile.  The dog is still beloved, and the fingernail did eventually grow out (!).

@Mistreatedbycs , do you think your case was less severe because you had the vaccine or was it too early to be effective?

I got my shots a year ago and I had a bad reaction for the first 24 hours...burning hot arm at injection site, nausea, tired.

Hoping you make a complete recovery!  S

Sorry about the shingles but thanks for the product recommendations.
