Has any one been diagnosed with this?

My mother had it and it was very painful. She had pockets the burst and fused them selves to a fallapion tube and ovary. She required surgery and some point

I had this two years ago.  Very painful.  After 6 months of trying everything, the doctor said, "It's time for surgery".  The least painful surgery I have every had done.  Should have done it sooner.

Yes, I have it. I am usually pretty good, unless I eat something that I shouldn't, (without meaning to). Sesame seeds on a burger bun, tomato seeds and even the skins, like tomato, peaches, etc. If it is severe enough, any seeds will get trapped in the pouches in the colon wall where they get stuck, fester and can become infected and can even burst, as noted by previous poster. Avoiding seeds and skins will go a long way to preventing the pain, bloating and other symptoms. I ordered a burger one time without thinking, it came with a sesame seed bun and it felt like I had eaten lit firecrackers for about 3 days. Lesson learned! Also, increasing dietary fiber will help, just be sure if it is in supplement form that is has psyllium, like Metamucil or Benefiber.

I started bleeding quite a bit one morning last year after I went to bathroom. Ended up in hostipal and had an emergency colonoscopy ( A nightmare experience).  It was diverticulitis; so now I drink lots more water and occasionally use metimusil ( so far so good).

It's a very common disease and most seniors have some form of it.  Both my father and my son had serious issues with it and had to have resections.  I have it but I watch what I eat, have fiber and lots of water.  You get to the point where you know your triggers and try to avoid them.

@mrshckynut : As soon as I drank the prep c*** they took me to get procedure ( think they may have used something other than usual prep; I was vomiting it up). I've had usual procedure 3-4 times and this was nasty in comparison.
